Many people have worn crosses on a necklace for religious reasons...but, it seems that I keep seeing people, celebs and not, wearing rosaries...is this a new trend that I should partake in or is it blasphemous? To be honest...I actually always like it when I see someone rocking it...but, I am not sure if it is appropriate. Thoughts...

I'll comment, as a Catholic ;) The rosary is meant to be used as a means of prayer (most world religions use prayer beads, so it's a similar equivalent). There were times (and there still are people) who think it's absolutely wrong to ever wear a rosary around the neck as a necklace, since it's not supposed to be used as jewelry or as an adornement. However, it's okay to do so, if the reason behind it is as a means of remembering to "pray the rosary", or draw closer to God. Although that's the case, usually when people do it from that perspective, they usually wear it underneath their top, as again, it's not meant to be flaunted as a jewelry piece. A good example of not wearing it as jewelry are traditional Catholic nuns, who you would most commonly see "wearing" their rosary not around their necks, but instead tucked into their belt. I hope that helps!!
