Caftans are always in style for me!  The only sad thing is that as easy, breazy as the caftan looks for some reason they are always so expensive.  I really want to make my own...but, here are the ones I really want.:

  • I have been gushing over the lemlem designs since the first time I've seen them!  They also teamed up with my fave, J. Crew to sell these beautiful pieces!
  • I just found these Brooklyn made caftans by two.  I want everything!  The colors, the prints, everything is gorgeous!  Plus, they are all made in New York!
  • Today I received an email from Anthro that made me super excited!  For the month of May they were inspired by INDIA and have items that are reflective of a caftan and other styles similar to Indian clothing.  I can't wait to get the catalog!
I can't wait to see the caftans sold in the Calpyso collection at Target on May 1st!  The countdown is on!
Tory Burch and Rachel Roy are inspired by India.

The Resort 2011 line which I just purchased a pair of pants from was inspired by India meets the Alps.  I think that Tory is always inspired by India though with the colors, prints and styles like tunics she always uses.

Not only, is Rachel half Indian, she also incorporates her love of the county in her designs which I love.  This season she has earrings that I am gushing over and have to have right now!:)  Plus, much more!

Inspired by Lucky magazine wearing my Kmart lace/crochet top

I am in love with this top for the spring! It's all about the 70's boho style and I'm on it! There are so many ways to wear this top. Here are a few of my ideas:
    -light, wide leg jeans
    -maxi skirt
-worn with so many colors: tans, brights like pink, red, and black like I've worn here.
    -shorts
I'm so excited to share all of the fun ways I style this top.

    The look:
    Lace/crochet top Kmart (gifted)
    J.crew pants (buffalo exchange find
    Tank: H&M
    Shoes: Bongo Kmart

    The inspiration:
From the May issue of Lucky. I plan on trying all the styling ideas. They used a lace top from Bebe.

Wedding Guest Style Ideas from Net-a-Porter & a Royal Wedding Giveaway your won't want to miss!

As I plan for what I will wear for the final wedding I will attend this spring (next month).  I'm excited to get tips from all of the Royal Wedding inspirations everywhere.  My recent inspiration, the Net-a-Porter email I received this weekend.  I'm actually taking inspiration beyond the wedding I'm attending and using these tips for this spring in general:)
Since I'm in LOVE with rose gold I was partial to the styling tip from Net-a-Porter: pair with a vibrant print dress.  Previously, I had only considered solids so this seemed very new and refreshing.  And, going with the vibrant color factor, Net-a-Porter gives an amazing styling combo by boosting the expected pastel to another level by pairing it with a pop of neon!  Genius!!!
Here is where you can see it larger.

Plus, dazzle the other guest with the purse hanger you could win from the giveaway I am co-sponsoring with this week!  Today is my last day to give someone a chance to win a Clipa Purse Hanger.  But, there are still more chances the rest of the week of course:)  Get the rest of the details here.  Good luck!

    Kate Middleton style and giveaway

If you are like me and gushing over what soon-to-be Princess Kate Middleton will wear on April 30th...designer name and all. I thought it would be fun to look back on her pre-royalty style and start thinking about how her style will transform after her Happily Ever After begins:). I'm really curious if she has a stylist...I googled it and couldn't find a concrete answer. Does anyone know?

Plus, if you haven't noticed. I've teamed up with Handbago and Clipa for a 7-day giveaway to celebrate the royal wedding! Get details to the giveaway here. Good luck!

Entertaining like royalty: Tips from the Nate Berkus show

Since this week is all about the royal wedding, I thought it would be fun to share great videos I find around the topic.  These are tips you can always use for any event.  Enjoy!

My new have to have shoe: Lace up Corset Clog

    Lace up Corset Clog, $260

The clog is everywhere this season, but this is something new and I'm in LOVE!  This shoe seems new and unique and like something I can rock comfortably as a mommy with so many things. I actually found these shoes in the recent issue of REDBOOK (I know, I was really surprised to find them there too...but, that's why I flip through everything. You never know what you'll find.)

Now I'm really gushing over the company, No6!! Their blog has amazing, inspirational images-great styling. Plus, they also sell brogues! This company has it all! Make sure they are on your list!

My Tory Burch buy: Wait and you will receive:)

    the pant:

I've been eyeing these paisley (my favorite pattern) pants FOREVER!  They've been sold out on Net-a-porter and shopbop for as long as I can remember.  My sister-in-law happened to receive a $50 gift card in the mail and decided to share it with me...then, I called the local (in AZ) Tory Burch store and they happened to have their last pair and they went on sale that day!  WOOHOO!  Final price:$50!  So worth the wait!

I love how Tory styled the entire Resort line...here's another look that is going to inspire how I style my pants.

Don't miss out, all of the resort line is 50% off now!

The unexpected find: FREE Coldwater Creek $20 gift certificate

I found a $20 gift certificate on My City Mommy and just because it was FREE I decided to go and check it out.  I had never shopped there of course so figured I just might get a tank or something:)  Well, I was a little surprised that I actually liked a few of the items.  Jewelry, scarves, belts, and some tops.  It just shows you never know what you might like at stores you never give a chance.  Plus, today get 30% off everything in store...which means an extra 30% off the sale items (the 30% sale should continue to tomorrow...but, not 100% sure)!  So my belt was less than $15 so it was FREE!  I am printing off another coupon to get the other color because I LOVE it so much.  It is too large so I have to add an extra hole, but it's worth it!  (The smallest size was Small for sizes 6-8.)

Get the coupon here.  It ends tomorrow!

TIMEX does it again, sharing how to organize your jewelry-what to keep and toss

My new shopping secret: Shopping the childrens section for my accessories

Since having my daughter I've started noticing great items in the children's section at great prices!  Nordstrom, Crew Cuts and Gap Kids are my goldmines:)

I've wanted to buy a sweater from Crew Cuts, but since there were no returns and I wasn't sure on the size I let it go...

But, I have bought a gorge headband at Nordstrom for less than $10 and spotted watches, handbags and jewelry I would buy too!

Gap Kids also has great watches and jewelry.

Plus, I was just reading on the J. Crew tumblr page that the ladies that work at J. Crew also but the boys Crew Cuts blazers!  Proves my point!  Women don't just need to shop the adults section...check out the kids too:)  Great deals...and actually a lot of really cute styles!

Make credit/money from what you've got to shop for more!

I am always hearing people I know say that they are just throwing away or donating (which is still a good thing) their items without even TRYING to sell anything and I decided I had to share a post for where people should consider to make some money or credit.

For anyone who knows me.  You know that I am one who definitely LOVES the word FREE!  My PowPow always told me nothing in life was free...but, I think I've found a way to make sure I can say not anything...Well, since I LOVE to shop, but know I shouldn't do it as much as I'd like to (which would be everyday) I have found a way to make myself feel fulfilled in the shopping department from everything from clothes to magazines and books.  My motto is to try a few places in case some don't buy what you've got...then, at the end take things to a swap party and finally, donate.  It still ends up helping someone in the end so it's a win, win situation.  Here are a few places you can try.

    Electronics:
Bookmans: This is only in Arizona, but they buy electronics as long as you have the remote/all the pieces to ensure it works.
Best Buy: I just learned from the Nate Berkus show today that Best Buy offers potential store credit for used electronics.  The program is kind of odd though.  You have to pay to recycle and then you receive credit back...so it doesn't really make sense to me.
Sears: I had heard that Sears also offers a recycling program where you can receive store credit for items you donate, but it's only online.

    Clothes:
Plato's Closet:  Looks like this store is all over the country and quickly expanding...I need to go into a store to see how it is...online it looks pretty cool...we shall see:)
Buffalo Exchange:  I've LOVED Buffalo Exchange forever!  I used to go while in college and I was so excited when they finally made it to NY (I couldn't believe there wasn't one there long ago:).  The one amazing thing about Tucson when I moved here was that this is where it all started.  There is actually an outlet for Buffalo here that I still haven't been to...will have to do soon and share!  And, don't miss out on the Dollar Day Sale on 4/16 at all locations.
    New stores opening:
Tucson on 6th Ave. in late April.
First Santa Monica location on April 30.
Beacons Closet: This store is only in New York, but it looks like you can shop online which is kind of exciting.
Bookmans: Once again, this is only in Arizona...but, they do accept clothes and accessorize.
*The take away here is that there are many options.  Locally, there area always small shops that do resale as well.  The tip is to become friends with the person who buys...building a relationship lets them see your style when you drop off which pulls them in of course to be interested in purchasing what you have.  So, always dress reflective of what you have when you drop off.

    Books and magazines:
If you have as many fashion magazines and books as I do...these are the best ways to recycle and get more at a lower price.  I usually get the publications I'm not subscribed to at these places.  The magazines they don't purchase I donate to fashion schools.
Bookmans: In AZ only, but search locally for book/magazine resale stores.
Powells: This is in Portland, but allows you to sell books online!

    Thrift store trick:
SAVERS: Donate items and receive a gift certificate/discount for future purchases at thrift store.

If you can't get to stores etc.  Check out options online:
I-ELLA: Is a new site where you can exchange clothes/accessories with friends and family or sell!  It's AMAZING!  Use code: FASHIONALITIES to test it out today!

You might think it takes too much time, but using Etsy or eBay ensures that you get 100% of the profit.

******OMG!  Everyone needs this!  I recycle all the time!  Look up about Recyclebank.com and get coupons and gift cards for your recycling!

*Shop on Freecycle.org to get free stuff...guy on Nate Berkus says it's like "Free"bay.
