ANN TAYLOR Perfect Pant Event

I was very excited when I was contacted by the Social & Digital Marketing rep for Ann Taylor to participate in their Perfect Pant Event and receive a $100 gift card to test it out!  The best part is...for just trying on the pants, you receive a $20 off every pant you purchase that day!  How genius!  Already my bargain wheels were turning:)  It got even better when I went into the store at La Encantada and the ladies were happy to let me know that there were 3 other great deals going on and they would make to help me get the best deal for my shopping that day.

Here are the deals:
-Ending today, I just posted the GMA deal on my site here.  Basically, a pair of classic black pants that usually sell for $88 are ONLY $29 ending today!  So, rush in for these ASAP!
-All full price items are Buy 1 item, get the second item 50% off.
-The official pant event is: Try on any pair of pants and get a $20 discount on every pant you purchase during the event!  From August 19-31.

My experience:
What a great deal!  The pants I purchased were $98, so I got them for $78.  Since I still had money left over from the gift card that was sent to me...I took advantage of the extra savings on the sale items.  Which is an EXTRA 50% off the lowest marked price.  I got some black rhinestone sandals.
NOTE: The ladies told me most of these deals need a coupon with a bar code.  So sign up for the emails ASAP so you don't miss out!  I also got a great booklet from the store with a fit guide (there is a fit for every body type and the Ann Taylor stylists are there to help!) and style guide.  It's really helpful and has great styling tips.  You can also access these tips online: Fit Guide and Style Guide.
I went in wanting something more casual since I am a stay-at-home mommy now, but found the best fit was in the relaxed cropped pants.  Great fit and can't wait to wear them!  Will share in future posts:)

Loafer LOVE (the Slipper Shoe)

Loafers have been catching my eye since I was preggers (since I haven't been able to rock my heels, usually at least 3" since then), which has been about 2 years now...but, I just haven't found the ones I was searching for at a good price...and, since I'd say The Man Repeller has put them out there, they are on the market in a big way!  I LOVE the way Glitter Guide shared styling ideas for loafers here  (by the way, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Glitter Guide...if you haven't already, check them out!).  I intend on getting the ASOS leopard version and a pair from Buffalo Exchange (if they aren't already gone) that remind me of something Bottega Veneta (which the white Urban Outfitters pair below reminds me of without the tassel which I LOVE!) would do...will share if they are still there:)  To everyone else, check out these fab options I've noticed while searching for the right pair.  Side note: Just from putting my polyvore's together I now have no idea which loafer I should get!!  Which is your fave??

Gushing over what to expect from Tracee Ellis Ross in the future!!

I just finished reading the article about Tracee in the Sept issue of ESSENCE (that I bought only because she was on the cover:) and I had to share the most exciting news ever!!!
There are 3 things Tracee dreams of doing:
Developing a line of hair care for women. (I would soooo buy!!!)
Star in a (iconic) fashion movie like Mahogany. (I can't wait for this to happen!!)
Create an affordable line of clothing and sell on HSN or something. (I'd rather see her line at: Target, H&M or Macy's...but, if she did it at HSN I'd check it out of course:)

It sounds like this is a list of things that will happen and she just can't confirm yet...can't wait for all!!!

Quote from Essence article:
"Her favorite thing to do when she's feeling down? "Play dress-up in my closet. Makeup, hair, the whole thing," she says. "I call my closet my happy place. And I often photograph my looks with my cell phone. So when events come up, they've already been worked. I send pics to my friends and say, 'Okay, this look, this event. Which do you like. One, two, three, or four?' That's pretty much the way it goes.""

Some stylish looks from Tracee I found online:

The scoop on Tracee Ellis Ross' Hermes bag...

I just read in the September issue of ESSENCE that Tracee's Hermes Birkin bag is fake...I've always wanted one, but of course, can't afford the price tag (maybe EVER in my life, unless I hit the lottery:)!  I'm kind of excited that Tracee's is fake and she's being honest about it and ROCKING it hard!  Snaps to her!  I might need to find one as good as hers and do my thing...we shall see:)

She's featured in this book, check it out, it's AMAZE~!!

Inspiration from Cupcakes and Cashmere

I know we've seen these vests everywhere, but I love the fresh way that Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere made the vest look by adding the brooches to the pocket flap.  I check her blog out weekly for great styling ideas and fab recipes to try:)

DiY inspiration from Project Runway, season 9

I love that season is a little different using pj's and items from a pet store. It looks like I might have to make a trip to the pet store for me and not Paisley:)
I loved Olivier Green (the winner for episode 2) piece...but, what really got me inspired was Monica Rose's (the Kardashian girls stylist) closet shots. She had a top that reminded me of the dog bed...not in a bad way. I know she must have spent a ton...I just might have to try a DiY of the jacket:). Thoughts?

The winning look from Olivier. Chic, eh:)

Monica Rose's's similar, right?:)
