Tips to have great results with henna for the hair

Bought this at the Indian store.
The mix after coming out of the fridge the next day.
My hair after applying the henna.

Since I'm preggers I figured I would have some fun with my hair that is natural and healthy and actually a great conditioning treatment.  It feels amazing having someone else apply, so I would recommend asking a friend or family member to assist.  My sister-in-law said that in India, people come to your house to apply henna for you...sounds amazing!
Here are a couple of notes I took while my sister-in-law applied the henna to my hair (thanks Tashoo!!:):

*Will know if it will be a good color if the henna hits fingers and turns a good red right away.
*Mix henna night before with tea and coffee for color and put in fridge.  Use metallic bowl for extra color...diy use foil in bowl.
*Make sure and use a towel and an old shirt you don't care about.  My sister-in-law says that it does wash out of cotton items just fine.
*Recommended to apply outside to have sun exposure to allow to dry out in hair and sun makes color come out better.  20 min in sun till "crusty".
*Henna is a natural conditioner...but for thicker/dry hair add a splash of olive oil for extra conditioning.
*Let it sit for 4 hours at least.  As long as possible so the color works best.
*Should just grow out with your hair and doesn't fade like hair color...but, goes away like highlights.
*This is a fun option to use when you have a few grey's...it gives a great highlight to them.
*When rinsing using cool water to avoid stripping the color.

Sadly, the photos I took after weren't showing the color just right.  But, I do love the results and I know they will get better with time since I live in such a sunny climate.  The only bad thing is I still have a lot of henna washing out in the shower...it does get messy:)

Hoping for the return of their show!

It's all about going all natural and the next brand I want to try is Jurlique

Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist, $31

Now that I am preggers and reading all of the mom blogs I'm starting to find new products and brands I want to try; the top of the list right now is Jurlique.  I keep reading about the line everywhere and I am loving rose right now and they offer a ton in rose.  Yesterday, I finally tried the rose facial mist I've been searching for at Whole Foods and it was so refreshing in the 100 degree weather we are having in AZ.
The eye make up remover and the hand sanitizer have also caught my attention.  I'm hoping Birchbox sends some samples out in their May box:)
Join Birchbox here in case they get the amazing Jurlique in one of their fab monthly boxes...or just buy the product on their site for great deals!

H&M on Sustainable Fashion

I fell in LOVE with all of the pieces today...so cute and such great prices!  Check out ASAP before they sell out!

My renewed love affair with LUSH

I was at the mall today and finally got to venture into LUSH today and found I am hooked again.  I used to LOVE LUSH when it wasn't in every mall in America...I used to shop at one in London when I lived in England.

What I bought today:

Vanilla Puff Powder: It's already hitting the 100's and I hate to sweat, so I figured why not try out an all natural powder with my favorite fragrance, Vanilla:)

Angels on Bare Skin: I am testing this out...but, I already know I'm going to LOVE it!  It's ground almonds and lavender and rose...it's a daily light exfoliant with other all natural ingredients that are perfect for combo skin.

Sweet Lips: I usually like to create my own lip scrubs, but this is GENIUS!  They caught me while I was heading out:)  You just apply on your lips and move around then, you can just lick off!  And this is yum!:)  I'm going to just carry this in my bag:)  Deep scrubs can be done at home when needed:)

Therapy Massage Bar: This was recommended to me for my tummy to prevent stretch marks...I thought it just felt nice and smelled good to...I love anything with shea butter anyway:)

Pregnant Pause: Maternity wear by HATCH that everyone will want to wear!

I have to be honest...I always seem to be preggers around spring/summer which makes me pout because I can't wear any of my cute summer dresses, boohoo...last night, I came across a fairly new maternity line that fashionistas in NY that aren't even preggers and haven't been are rocking! Check out Refinery 29 to see pics of this:)

The line is genius and I'm so excited about the inspirational styling and the pieces I want to get my hands on:). Here are some of the pieces I'm gushing over:)

P.s. love their blog too!!!

Pics of Tracee Ellis Ross in Uptown mag

Well, I finally got the digital issue of the mag. Styling was fun and article seems to be more about her life than style and beauty. But, still a good read.

Here are a few of my fave looks from the article.

Collabs galore...here are a few to note

I just keep seeing collab emails here are there.  Any I'm missing that everyone should know about?  Here are a few to note:

Just received this in my email today from NYLON mag:

-Trina Turk for Banana Republic.  I can't wait for this, but I'm not sure when it will be happening.
-Mad Men collab with Banana Republic.  Going on now.
-Mad Men with Estee Lauder, great vintage looking cases for their product.

Anthropologielaunches Made in Kind, a collaborative project featuring collections of limited-edition and one-of-a-kind items from 11 designers, including Gregory Parkinson, Karen Walker, Samantha Pleet, and more.
*Blurb from Pop Sugar
-DVF has designed children's clothes at GAP.  Such cute stuff!  I'd say see if they have large enough items to try out on yourself as well:)  Happening now.
-J. Crew & Manolo shoes-happening now.
-J. Crew & CFDA winner, Joseph Altuzarra
-Target thinks local, ships national; Target will be working with boutique owners all of the U.S. to get that signature look they have in their store at Target for all to buy.  I can't wait!  This happens May 3!

Everyone is excited about Beyonce's new website, here is where you can find some of her amazing clothes: Camilla Franks

I like many others was all over Beyonce's new site yesterday.  Mainly her tumblr page sharing pics from her life and style.  I LOVED all of her cover-ups on her travels.  A fashion friend on Twitter said that she loves Camilla Franks (I think this is the brand Kim and her mommy like as well).  So, I figured I'd share some styles that caught my eye from the designer and cross my fingers that some of my fave Beyonce styles were still available.
