I was looking through old pics on my iPad and thought I'd share some inspiration that was getting me excited about creating new looks of my own:). Olivia Palermo knows how to rock flats hands down! Got a little excited going through images and shared a lot. Id say a majority of these looks are spring related. Unless you live somewhere like me (in AZ) where it's HOT most of the year. Enjoy!
*these are not my images and since they are so old I'm not sure where they are from.
**the last image is The Manrepeller of course:)
Let's face it...I'm a LOVER of fringe and I can tell many others are because it's everywhere for now on handbags, jackets and more. Plus, we'll see more in the spring from a statement accessory to a fringed top. I say when you are down to just wearing a swim suit as a fashionista you still need to bring some flair and these suits do just that...so, get ready for your holiday packing with some great tips and tricks from InStyle swimwear.
For 2012, it’s all about fun and fabulous fringe! For
all you fashionistas who are looking to score that chic bohemian beach vibe,
you’ll love this season’s new fringe
swimwear styles. As with all
trends, it’s best not to overdo it, but these gorgeous new styles will
definitely have you looking like the belle of the beach.
If you’re a bikini-wearer, there are a number of new fringe
swimwear tops that are innovative and just plain amazing. L Space
Swimwear is one brand that seems to have mastered the trend. Not only do they have a best-selling
fringe bandeau top, but for the 2012 season they have created a new halter top
style as well. Although both tops
will look gorgeous on all women, they’re perfect for those with smaller busts,
as the sassy fringe detail will help make you appear fuller up top! Both fringe swimwear styles come in a
variety of colors, such as iris, citrus, tiffany blue and classic black. So for those on a budget, treat yourself
to a new top and pair them with bottoms that you already own!
But if the thought of a bikini scares you, you’ll love the
new 2012 fringe swimwear styles in one-piece silhouettes. Designer brands like L Space Swimwear
and Tori Praver know that not everyone feels comfortable in an itsy bitsy
bikini, so they have come up with some sleek new one-pieces and monokinis that
feature amazing coverage and style.
Their designs have sexy plunging necklines with chic fringe detail and
will help emphasize the areas you love most about your body while providing you
with substantial front coverage.
Finally, if you’re not bold enough to rock fringe swimwear
but love its boho-chic look, don’t fret!
For 2012, look for tunics and dresses that can serve as swimsuit
cover-ups or everyday-wear! Brands
such as PilyQ, Despi and L Space all feature gorgeous cover-up styles with
fringe embellishments that will have you looking totally on-trend this season.
(****Sidenote: I LOVE this color!!! Also LOVE the beading:)
This year, whether you’re bummin’ it at the local beach or
partying it up at a Vegas pool party, be bold and rock the fringe swimwear
trend!

I can't wait till Sahara is old enough to do this! Until then, I'm using these tips for moi:) This is for all of the fashionista's out there with kids...I know you'll love this!:) Nuy Beauty rocks! Check her out for more AMAZING tips!
I watch any Kardashian program to watch what Kourtney is wearing. She is my fave fashion sister of the Kardashians...but, last night it looks like Kris had my style attention in Dubai. I LOVED her Celine handbag...which is on the top of my list right now and it seems every other fashionistas and her DVF dress...to die...
But, back to Kourtney...last night I really liked her pleated top which seems is on pre-order for $136...or you could go the inspired look for much less.
Ok, I am a HUGE bargain shopper so I am heading on over to Payless manana to see if any of the designer Payless collabs are up for big savings grabs:) Here is what I found online that doesn't sound bad...Plus, you can send it to the store for FREE delivery and then check out what's on sale in store:)!
New designer collab items should start trickling in by February so sit tight...they are going to be GOOD!
Thank you to Tasha Robinson from Imperfect Concepts for her expertise on the matter of shopping for clothes at a thrift store. I LOVE shopping her online store, Imperfect Concepts bargain designer items and unique vintage finds. Plus, I love following her on twitter @imperfectconcept and asking her questions about other items I'm searching for...she has a great eye and is on top of all levels of fashion.
2011 has come and gone and now you’re embarking on new
levels of success in 2012 but you feel that your wardrobe is still reeking
college graduate or unemployed chic. The budget you thought you had is three
times smaller than you would like so you don’t know where to start on your path
for a new wardrobe to go with the new you. Simple, your local thrift store. See,
you don’t need more than $30 and you can build a nice staple of pieces to go
with your already existent wardrobe.
First, survey the pieces in your closet and see which ones
are out dated. If out dated or no longer fit donate to your local women’s
shelter or church to a person in need. Now see what you need to build a
wardrobe of staples and alternatives. Nina Gracia’s The
One Hundred is a great to help you with key pieces but the rule of thumb is
women should have these 10 key items (Crisp white button down top, trench coat,
ballet flats, 1 pair of skinny jeans, 1 jean you prefer, black purse, leopard
scarf, cashmere sweater, black blazer & classic Little Black Dress) here is
a link to a Wendy’s
Look Book she explains all the pieces.
Now onto the fun part, you have your list and you know what
you need in your closet. Google all the thrift or vintage boutiques in your
town then find the ones in the ritzy neighborhoods. People tend to donate
closer to their home. I will say when shopping you MUST have an open mind to
the garments you will find. Yes, you need a black purse and ballet flats but we
are not pigeon holding you to a particular style of either. If you see some
pointy toe classic flats grab them if they fit your style aesthetic. Furthermore, look for other items that you can use later on. If you are a lover of dresses search the dresses section for ones you might
like and can get alter to fit you and your needs. Also make sure to search the
children’s section for great blazers and scarves. My favorite Brooks Brothers white button down is actually from the men’s section of a local thrift
store. To get more bang for your buck call ahead to see the deals the store
might offer. Hey, we know the prices are already pretty darn cheap but what
person doesn’t love additional off savings.
All in all, building a new wardrobe at the fraction of the
cost can be quite fun when shopping your local thrift store. From finding
vintage KISS t-shirts to scoring Lanvin flats every piece is unique and new to
you. Keep your eyes open when your shopping and the store is your play ground.
I had decided to scan through the shoe section on Charlotte Russe the other day to see what designer look-a-likes I could find and found something close to an Alexander Wang shoe I've been lusting after for a while...the metallic shoes are GENIUS and I would LOVE to own a pair...but, since I doubt that will be happening I figure a look-a-like could be fun.
*The shoe also comes in silver and a metallic blue...I just LOVE rose gold:) I know it's not the perfect match...but for $33 it's close:) Has anyone seen anything closer?
Update: Here is another closer version of the Alexander Wang shoe from our friends at Collage Boutique!
Now, for the DIY:
I'm not sure exactly what you need to do...I'd guess that you'd need a metallic/rose gold or silver fabric and glue it to the back. Is it that easy? Has anyone else seen it done. I think that Honestly WTF will be doing a DIY...so, let's stay tuned:)
I love going into the Free People stores...I went into the one at the Scottsdale Fashion Square mall last week and loved the decor and styling of the clothes at the store. Great inspiration spot.
This DIY nail design is genius. I am so loving all of the Navajo designs this year...I'll see if I can do this on my nails:)
It's the new year...what will you be watching? Here are a few fashion forward options:)
Happy New Year!!
xoxox
GOSSIP GIRL: We have to wait till 1/16...but, it's worth the wait, right? So, much drama + lots of fab styling by Eric Daman. Can't wait!

Project Runway All Stars: I can't wait for Isaac Mizrahi!! Get ready for the drama:)
Juniverse, June Ambrose on VH1: I LOVE her styling and can't wait to see her on TV finally! I've been saying she needed a show since I started following her post on twitter (@juneambrose) and youtube! Follow her on youtube (juneambrose65) until her show starts.
Jane by Design: Might be a kids show...but, it's caught my attention...let's see how it is...
Pretty Little Liars: Ok, another abc family show...they are cute and have really great styling...what can I say? I'm hooked:)
24 Hour Catwalk with Alexa Chung...I haven't heard the best reviews on this...I think we are all still sad that she didn't end up doing that vintage show on PBS...hopefully they bring it back...we shall see...
Any fashion programs that I'm missing?? Let me know.

I was beyond excited and glued to the TV while watching Fashion Hunters one episode because of a consigner, Maya Gorgoni who walked in wearing a dress that I knew I had to have. I of course decided to do some research to find out who she was so I could ask this fashionista who her dress was by. Was I amazed when I found out that she designed the amazing dress that had a 50's silhouette and African print! I decided that there wasn't enough out there about her and her line and I had to share what I could find out because I knew all of you would love her style as much as I do:) Here is a glimpse into the up and coming line I know we will be seeing of everywhere. I love getting into a creative person's mind...so inspiring! Makes the pieces you buy even more amazing. P.S., I can see Solange Knowles and Tracee Ellis Ross rocking these designs for sure!
1. How did you get onto Fashion Hunters? (I'm always curious how people get onto shows like this...so, I thought I'd find out...in case anyone was wondering why I asked:)
1 A
good friend/fashionista referred me to ‘Fashion
Hunters’. I spoke with the
shows producers and told them I had two great vintage pieces w/ great stories
behind them. One was a YSL and the other a Valentino. They chose the
“Valentino” anecdote.
2. I LOVED your dress on the show, where is it sold and for how much? (Where can the rest of the line be purchased as well:)
1 Royal
Jelly Harlem has been strongly influenced by the silhouettes of the 1950’s and
1960’s combined with African print. This retro-fit in my opinion was and still
is the best (I totally agree!) fit for Women of all shapes and sizes, but specifically those of us
with curves ;)
4. Where can people purchase your designs?
1 Contact
us at: www.royaljellyharlem.com
for further information on custom bespoke orders and to make an appointment at
our Soho Showroom.
5. How did you get into designing clothing?
RJH
was conceived in February of 2011.
After a trip to Harbor Island, Bahamas with my Mother, I decided it was
time to start it up after getting approached by ‘Sip Sip’ restaurant and boutique owner, Julie Lightbourn. Her
interest in one of my dresses turned into my first order. She loved it so much
she ordered 48 pieces while I was on vacation! The Men’s ‘Tam-Tam’ board shorts
soon followed.
My Mom used to own a boutique called ‘This Time Around’, located on the campus
of Fashion Institute of Technology. I grew up around Fashion and Art, having
been amongst the first generation of kids born in to the new and emerging Art
Community of what is now known as Soho. I love fashion and consider myself a
Fashionista—I have spent a small fortune on fashion to date! It just makes
sense for me to parlay my Passion for Fashion and put my own spin on it. (And, I'm glad you are!:)
6. How would you describe your style?
1 From
high to low price points: YSL, Ferragamo, Prada, Hermes, Dries Van Noten and
Thakoon, Jimmy Choo, and Louboutin to J.Crew, Zara, H&M, Forever 21 and Converse! Best worn in a choreographed ensemble!
7. How would you describe you line?
Fearless,
Forward-thinking and Fabulous are a few adjectives to explain RJH! Our line is
for Men and Women who consider Boldness a Virtue J
8. How did you come up with the name, Royal Jelly Harlem?
1 Royal
Jelly Harlem stems from a childhood nickname “Bee” from the international
cartoon “Maya the Bee”. Below read
the scientific definition:
‘Royal
Jelly is a secretion made by the glands of honeybees and feed to all bee larvae
for the first three days of life. This rich concentrated jelly continues to be
fed to the ‘chosen’ Queen Bees which as a result make her fertile. It is also good for humans,
very high in B-complex vitamins.
The Harlem reference comes from my current
neighborhood, home for the last two years after my year abroad in Rome, Italy
in 2009. It is in Harlem where I found my creativity, starting
with curating culinary dinner events before realizing it was all about Fashion
and African inspired clothing that made me happiest. The one-of-a-kind pieces
and items are inspired by the incredible artistry of each individual
print. All of our clothes are
proudly made in the USA.
I practice Green living and after learning
some years back about the vanishing Honey Bees in North America, I wanted to
draw attention to this. I’m
concerned that we’re going to lose these beautiful producers of Earth’s most
perfect food.
9. What should all fashionalities (fashionistas) have in their closet?
1 All
Fashionistas should have in their closet any one of our top pieces: The ‘Bee’,
‘Lola’, or ‘Paloma’. The ‘Tam-Tam’ board shorts or ‘PJ/Palazzo’ pants are HOT
for Men too!
10. What is your rule to fashion?
1 I
believe in building a wardrobe through investing in good classics, whether
vintage or contemporary, good fabrics/textiles and great workmanship. I love
mixing period pieces with current must-haves. A color palette that makes an
impact both visually and emotionally, and comfort when possible.
11. What inspires you?
I love to travel! Meeting
people from all cultures, tasting new foods, learning new languages---so I’m
very much influenced and inspired by my environment. I’ve been to Africa four
times since my first trip in 2006! I Wish I could visit a new African country
every year J Also, I still need to do a tour of Asia. I like mixing it up, it’s a lot more fun!
12. What are your favorite magazines, blogs, sites?
1 Some
favs in no specific order: Vogue, Bazaar, Allure, Town and Country, WSJ
magazine, Time, Vanity Fair, People and US Weekly. I’m new to Twitter and don’t
really follow any other Bloggers but LOVE Urbandaddy.
13. Which celeb or fashion star would you LOVE to be wearing your designs?
All of Hollywood, Bollywood
and Fashionistas Worldwide!
14. What can we expect from Royal Jelly Harlem in the near future? (Is anything exciting happening soon?)
I was just talking to creator, Nuy today and can't wait to try this out when I get home!!! She is so genius! Make sure and check out her blog, Nuy Beauty for more amazing beauty tips!

I'd say this is perfect for a business woman, a blogger, or a mommy. I want them all, so I have a feeling everyone will to:) Happy Shopping!
1. The iPad case that can be stored in your tote or held like a clutch by Rebecca Minkoff, $150.
2. I love how this Michael KorsiPhone case is also a wristlet and you can store your credit cards with it. This is genius for when you are at an evening event and don't want to carry a lot. $78
3. I'm always looking for cute bags that I can use for me and my baby as a diaper bag...I say this can also work for a blogger or business woman that is in a creative industry that doesn't want to carry something so businessy. This would be a great carry on as well. Filson for Lucky Denim Briefcase Bag, $329. 4. I'm all about finding new ways to cover my fabulous iPad and I was excited when I found this style at Lucky Brand with the Navajo print I'm loving right now. iPad Folio, $49. 5. This tote is GENIUS by COACH! It's their new collab with guest blogger #13, Emily Johnston of Fashion Foie Gras. The bag is $558 and it's perfect for any lady on the go. It's got compartments I've never seen on a bag before. Get it while it's still available. 6. I just love the print on this iPhone case! I feel like dressing my iPhone up is so much fun! I have it out all the time, so why not enjoy it! This case is from Lucky Brand for $35.
Ok, I know this is kind of long and not professional models...BUT, the styling is GENIUS! I LOVE everything! So just sit back, relax and get ready to be inspired and then rush into your local LOFT and shop away!:)
This is my fave t too...I LOVE the color! I'm getting this on the 15th:) My new addiction, Style Mint...for some reason, I kept hearing about this brand and thought you had to buy each month...found out you don't...but, basically they are $30 tee's unless there is a sale/promo each month. Make sure and check it out...so worth it! Like Joe shares...the Olsen sisters really know what they are doing...and even though I can't afford any of their other lines right now I'm excited to get my timeless t's to start off my collection:)
I was so excited when I noticed a legging at Target that looked just like my find at Aritzia recently! The Target version was ONLY $19.99 and the only difference was there is a little poly in the Target version...I have both and they are so similar it's not even funny. The Target version also has 4 color options: black, brown, grey and blue. I still LOVE Aritzia...but, I can't buy everything there sadly so it's nice to find similar styles else where.
I love the style as a more "covered" option for a legging during the winter. You know this style won't be see through and holds nicely on your body. The great thing too is that you know it's not going to get loose. It's a little bit of a dressier legging. You can dress them up or down. Have fun!
I saw Kourtney rocking a cute plaid top and had to share the look and the DIY for how to achieve the style. She was wearing the top with leggings I think and she was out with Mason playing at Central Park. In the look above it seems like it was another outing...but, who knows:) The top is a little expensive...but, I found some items that look similar and I already have a link to a DIY for how to make this gem which I've decided I need to have done ASAP!:)
Now, the one I've wanted for forever is the denim cut-out top from Urban Outfitters which is ONLY $49.99...I'm not sure why I've been delaying getting it...I guess because I can easily have it DIYed...maybe now, I'll take one of my denim tops in to be done with my plaid one I plan on doing:)
Here is a great plaid top that can be used for the project. I can't decide if I want to use a women's large/xl or a men's small/medium top...we shall see...I like the option of wearing the top loose over leggings or tucked into a skirt. We shall see.
Growing up Christmas Eve was always about getting special PJ's for when we woke up Christmas morning to open presents and we got to open the stocking!:) Once my sister and I got older away went the little toys and candy and welcomed in the beauty items...and that will never end:) I say it's all about getting the things we "need" ok, want in our stocking that we will use the rest of the year:) Here are a few on my list this Christmas. What do you get in your stocking?
I finally got the feather fedora from Target that is ONLY $14.99 and I can't believe I waited so long! It's such great quality and after looking at the hat on me and looking at my old Kourtney post I think it's spot on! The only thing it's missing is the GG logo:) Can't be mad at that! Great gift idea...or one to get for you while you are shopping for everyone else:)
I'm excited to see what Kourtney will be rocking on this season and what she'll be rocking now that she's announced she's preggers with her second kid. Stay tuned for looks that inspire! Who knows, maybe she'll sign a deal for maternity clothes like Nicole Richie...here's crossing my fingers!
Extra shopping tip!
I was looking at trying out these K-DASH by Kardashian Riding Pants with Faux Leather Detail...but, wasn't sure at $60...but, was just checking out Kourtney's site and saw that they have a deal for 40% off with a coupon! How can I say no??:) Get the info for the coupon here. Coupon expires 12/3.
Now I know during the holidays you are wearing all of your best. Which means all of your high heels and your feet are starting to hurt. So, when I found out about this shoe I knew it would be perfect for the holidays. It's called, Rollasole and it does basically that. You can roll the shoe into your purse and carry it with you wherever and be able to use it when those heels start to hurt. Or like me, when you are traveling nonstop and need some comfy shoes while you are on the plane.
Even cooler, these shoes will soon be sold at vending machines!!! How genius! First in LA and then LV...hoping they start having these vending machines at airports too. Plus, they are ONLY $20 so they don't break the bank.
I'm excited to share that Rollasole is offering a discount for my readers of 10% off for the next two weeks! This is such a perfect stocking stuffer! Use promo code: Fashionalities.
Giveaway:
And, to make it a little fun, I have 3 giveaway opportunities. 2 for followers on twitter who follow Fashionalities and Rollasole and one give away to blog readers. Blog readers, please leave a comment with your email and comment about who you will give these to or how you will use them by next Friday, December 9th and like Rollasole on facebook and leave a comment about the giveaway. And, while you're there, why not like Fashionalities too:) Good luck!
