LUSH-ous

I can't believe I forgot how AMAZING LUSH is!  I remember falling in love with the brand when I lived in England 10 years ago...and it has been that long since I have used the line...but, I was recently re-introduced and have fallen madly in love again!  The products are natural, and so good for the body.  I am going to get the deodorants next.

Mark Your Calendars for July 21st To Stand in Line for Botkier for Target!

This style has the shape of the Gucci bag that I want, the leather tassel that I love from Chanel bags and my fave color...this is my dream bag for all seasons...it is a fun color for summer and I can pair this with browns, bronzes and blacks to make it just right for fall/winter!
Kind of like the doctor bag, this looks like it can hold anything---and of course the tassel:)
I really like the black python style.
This is the bag from the ad for the August Lucky issue.

My jaw dropped when I opened the first page of the August Lucky and saw that Botkier would be at Target!  I was soo excited!  I have to have a couple of the styles...I was lucky and got the Gryson bag for only $11!  But, I don't think I can wait for this one...this is such a dream come true...I have wanted a Botkier for ages and now, I can get one at a price of $59.99 or less---how can you say no?  So, mark your calendars ladies!

Something to Hold You Off Until Gossip Girl Starts Again: Interview Designer Abigail Lorick

Abigail didn't hold anything back in this interview she is as AMAZING as her clothing!  I love that she is inspired from India and her looks are as classic as my fave 40's vintage dresses!  Become a Lorick Lady today and check out looks before they come back with GG.

Gossip Girl has become quite a success (I make sure and DVR it every week of course!), did you ever expect it to get to the status it is today?
When we signed on for the show we knew it would a hit, but we never thought working with Gossip Girl would be this fabulous and generate so much buzz!

What were your thoughts about contributing to Gossip Girl when it first began?

I was excited and honored to be involved with Gossip Girl.  Everyone working on the show is such a delight…and Blair's style is very LORICK, so we felt it was truly a perfect fit for us.

What do you use as inspiration for your collections?

Each season I like to visit a specific environment and then bring that environment to the everyday lives of our ladies.  We think about the music she is listening to, her means of transportation, the books she is reading and the art she fancies.  We then bring all these components together to create a collection that reflects her environment.

Do you travel for inspiration?  If so, where?

Yes, I do travel for inspiration.  This season, my biggest inspiration is Charleston, South Carolina.  India has also always been a huge inspiration for LORICK.

Where do you plan on selling your collection?

Barneys, NYC
Big Drop, NYC
Dear Fieldbinder, Brooklyn
We One You Two, DC

Who do you see as your customer?

She is 18 to 30 years old.  She is a classic woman, both educated and respectful.  A key detail about our Lorick Lady is that she enjoys getting dressed in the morning and looks forward to playing in the process.

Do you work with celebrities besides the actors on Gossip Girl?

Erin Andrews (amazing!), Lindsay Price, and I believe there have been some recent pulls for Drew Barrymore, Katherine Heigl, Stacy London, and Zooey Deschanel.

What do you have in store for us in the future?

I am SO excited about Spring 09.  The whole collection represents the elegance that woman are capable of carrying throughout all situations and environments.

Where did you go to school for design/or where did you learn how to sew?

I went to the fashion institute in New York and I learned to sew when I was younger in the throws of cutting all of my clothes.

New From Isaac Mizrahi at Target

People keep talking about Isaac leaving Target, or changing his responsibilities to working on Liz Claiborne at Target...so, we shall see...until that happens, Isaac has some new items to check out.
Right on trend this summer with nautical looks.
These 2 pieces are Isaac Mizrahi's "Couture" pieces on the line. These look like a dress that Leighton Meester wore on the taping of "Gossip Girl."

The print is a great piece to add some Native American flair to your wardrobe/trends this summer.

Seasonless Styles---sounds like a good idea...but,

does that mean that there won't be sales...you know the end of the seasons sales that we get graced with in months like July when we are still wearing summer clothes and don't have to worry about the full price tags anymore and can start just "Looking" at the fall merchandise in August and plan the attack for sales again...JC Report shares the new idea of seasonless fashion (and which designers are starting this movement) and how it can benefit all of us-including our environment...But, what would it be like not having trends for Fall and Spring? If it was just one mosh pit...I guess we do carry over trends from seasons before and just add a new thing here and there to create the edge...Fashion magazines will really have to take over and guide readers into creating one closet for Spring and Winter instead of separating like we do now. I am very interested to see how this develops and which designers jump on the bandwagon.

This is For Fall

Believe it or not, this look by DVF is for Fall and I love it! Why do we have to go dark and heavy for Fall? We are transitioning and this is an exciting look to express that. I LOVE the color combination (jewel tones are strong) and I find the trend of a "sleeveless jacket," which, isn't that just a vest:) a perfect layering piece for the fall as it begins to get cold. Also...the skinny belt seems to stay strong during the fall, so do not chuck any that you have been storing. I think that the JCrew bow skinny metallic belt could be a great investment piece or something for you to watch to go on sale for your fall wardrobe. I think that the mettallics are perfect for fall and the bow would be great paired with a blouse, skirt, or a fabulous dress...it makes any basic look a little special.

Hear Say: Zac Posen

I heard someone say that Zac Posen has lost his edge a couple of months ago and the person listening agreed...Since I saw a piece on Zac Posen in New York Magazine, I figured I would ask everyone if he has lost his edge, or if we all still dream of one day owning a Zac Posen piece....is he still the next Oscar de la Renta? I personally still think he has it and hope that maybe one day he does a Go International line for Target or partners with the company like Isaac Mizrahi has.

Fabric Find

I was at Wal-Mart last night and found some fabric for only $1 a yard and I am going to have something like one of these dreamy Missoni pieces...No matter how much it ends up coming to to have the piece made, it will still be less than my dream Missoni piece.

My New Summer Must-Have: High Waist Swim Wear

*This is my favorite style! The straps can be removed to be a bandeau style.

I found styles at Urban Outfitters online that I had to share with everyone. I love the vintage feeling and modern print for these pieces.

Online Shopping @ Zeny's

It is amazing how we have gone from only being able to shop a store in your home location or on vacation, to now, getting online no matter where you live and shopping a fab boutique like Zeny's which is in California. I, living in all place like Tucson, AZ that maybe doesn't carry every brand I want or styling might be a little different due to location...can just jump online and be fashionably satisfied by the findings on Zeny's...

The online boutique carries looks that can take you from day to night---red carpet styling. Brands range from the well-known Ed Hardy, to the need to know, M Shape Ema Savahl. Some of the dresses scream Kim Kardashian...she must have worn some of these styles...And who can say no to a SKY piece!? I love the SKY brand!

Your Feet Deserve Nothing But The Best This Summer

Yes, we all own the infamous, plastic sandal...and even if you paid a pretty penny with one of the DELUXE Havaianas....just nothing can compare to a pair of designer brand shoes for the summer...No, every pair you get will not have that designer price point, but at least one pair should get your through the summer taking a basic ensemble to another level with the craftsmanship that a pair of designer sandals should carry.
Some brands to consider for your summer wardrobe are:
Faryl Robin is a trendy new designer that I have a pair of shoes from and have worn them from all day in India to every occasion here at home. They are not only comfy, but they are just a perfect trend investment for this season because I know I will wear the shoes with everything. And, keep that in mind when you purchase your one "Designer" shoe for this summer.
How much will you wear them? Stuart Weitzman...a brand that before working at Stems a shoe Boutique, I didn't realize was one of the American designers of his time...everyone LOVES a pair of Sturart's...it is like the idea of having a Manolo or a Jimmy...Stuart has been around for a long time, known how to make a shoe just right for a woman and creates amazing designs that can be worn forever. I fell in love with the color of this shoe when it came into Stems recently and had to share!
Cole Haan, a brand that is owned by Nike, so carries the comfort of a sneaker but the sleekness every woman's shoe should have. Slingbacks are sexy style to have for the summer...the heel is not too high and the point is perfect for any look from jeans to dresses and skirts.
Although I want to say to avoid short with this style shoe, I think that CB wore a pair of slingbacks with shorts, a long jacket and a paper boy hat...so, to each their own:)
