Rocking my gifted stripe hat from Land's End Canvas

Since living in AZ I've become such a hat girl. When Land's End Canvas asked me to participate in a styling project with pieces that have unexpected details I was up for the challenge.
Although this pinstripe hat has a classic flair and can easily be paired with a navy or cream a-line dress or a blouse and some ankle length pants. I wanted to change it up. I wanted it to be a bit unexpected and add some of my Indian flair:). So I paired it with my husbands Indian silk kurta I wore as a dress, red wedge espadrilles by Steve Madden I got from Buffalo Exchange, Indian yellow gold earrings, and the bag is a rice bag, yes a rice bag:). I thought it pulled the look together:)
It just shows how the unexpected details can come together...and I think it's quite a fun look...can't wait to wear the hat in a classic manner...let's see of I have anything maternity that works:).

*Update, this rope trim fedora by Land's End Canvas was $40 and is now ONLY $17.99!  Now through Tuesday they are taking an extra 25% off everything and get free shipping when you spend $50 or more!  Code: PRIVATE and Pin: 2530

Don't you wish there was an app for that?

Warning: this is long...there seem to be new apps out everyday that are catching my attention.

I want an app that tells me what mag I'm subscribed to and when those subscriptions end...that way I don't get 2 issues of one mag and know when it's time to sign up again...

Also, wish I knew of a great resource for building apps...I get so many great fashion app ideas...wish I could just develop and share them.

Until then...here are some great apps I've been using recently:

-New Zara iPad app

-The All New AE App + 20% Off

-App: thankfulfor journal
-App: Locavore app/find local farmers markets

-New lucky shopping app

Upcoming Zappos iPad App Mimics a Fashion Magazine (All Things Digital)
“The new black this fall: Retailers producing content alongside their products, like an online version of a glossy fashion magazine. Zappos expects to launch its first attempt at recreating the catalog experience on the iPad in early December, just in time for the holidays… Instead of being generally available in iTunes, the Zappos app will be found on Apple’s Newsstand, which organizes magazine and newspaper subscriptions for those who use iOS 5. It will be free; a new edition will appear monthly.”

New online platform and mobile app is a loyalty program connecting consumers and brands by rewarding people for what’s in their closet

-Shopkick, CW Network Team Up
Users will be able to turn on the app while watching any show on the CW network and get their “kicks” during commercial breaks.

Shoe Scoop

I am officially on the search for the perfect, unexpected shoe for my wedding look in a couple of weeks...the dress is darling, but I need to edge it out...and on a budget.  So, I am looking to the brands that offer designer styling with a budget price tag: Nine West, Michael Antonio, Steve Madden, Aldo and Chinese Laundry.  And the color of the moment is NUDE (which everyone seems to be talking about this week in fashion) instead of the expected gold or silver, or even black...Nude elongates and goes with anything.

Aldo-ok, I cheat...I wish this were nude:(  But, this is the type of style I am looking for...
