The thing is I keep seeing these shoes everywhere and I'm feeling like I have to have them now!:)  They seem perfect for everything this spring!  With a striped dress, wide leg jeans and a striped tee, maxi print dress, cropped trousers with a solid tank and a scarf and many more come to mind.

The Spiegel email that caught my attention

I don't check my Spiegel emails everyday...or really visit the site that much.  But, when I read that a celeb stylist was doing something with the brand my interest was peaked and I decided to check it out.  I actually liked four of the items (the necklace, the gray jacket, gray shoes and white handbag:) in the email blast and then noticed that the brand offers a magazine on their site too.  The magazine didn't really do much for me honestly...I doubt I'll be checking every week or anything...but, I think they have some good pieces if you search which like almost anywhere you shop...so, why not?  Plus, if you sign up for email updates you get 15% off.

Summer Wedge by Baby Phat

I was excited when the folks at Lucky magazine contacted me to let me know I was one of the Alpha Shoppers chosen to test out a new shoe from the Baby Phat line called, "Paula".  I knew from watching Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane that Kimora was so longer affiliated with the brand which made me curious...how would the line do without her?
Well, the shoes that were sent to me were in ads in every magazine in March, so I knew what was coming and started brainstorming what I would pair the wedges with...When I received the package in the mail I opened to find wedges that are a little too large for mommy style now so I was stumped for where to wear them.  I ended up bringing the shoes to a birthday party for my brother in law.  I wore the shoes for the pictures and then had to take them off.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE high, high heels...and the shoes styling is perfect for this season with the 70's trend alive...but, at this time in my life and can't rock heels that high...even if they are wedges.  But, I do appreciate the styling of the shoe.  I think I like the brown I saw in the ads more and after checking out the site, I think I also like the gray and tan.  I don't know if I would have chosen the black first, but, they looked good on with the dress.  Another great thing is the shoe is now on sale for $49.99 from $69.

Here are the questions Lucky magazine and Baby Phat wanted me to answer:

1.  Are these shoes versatile enough to take you from day to night? 

Before I was a mommy I would say definitely.  But, now...I need something a little easier to get around with a 7 month old.

2.  Paula Shoe 3 ways: Describe 3 looks these shoes would work well with.

 I liked pairing the wedge with a summer dress to mix it up, but here are three other ways to rock it:

1.  Jeans, lace/crochet top and gold bangles.

2.  Maxi dress (on my list to go with everything this spring!:).

3.  Cropped pants, Tokyo top by Elizabeth and James, and Gold Hoops.

3.   Where would you wear these shoes? (i.e., brunch with the girls, clubbing at night, weekend at the beach, etc.)

Pre-baby:

I would wear these everywhere!

Now:

Evening events where baby is sleeping:)

4.  If you didn’t know these were from Baby Phat, what brand would you think made them? Have these shoes changed your perception of the brand? For better or worse?

I think I would have thought that they were Aldo if I hadn't known they were Baby Phat.  The shoes make me want to see what's coming next.  I hadn't really looked at the brand in a while because they seemed to just be a logo brand.  I really appreciate that there is no sign of the logo on the shoes.

This weeks Net-a-Porter magazine inspires my next thrift store shopping spree

This week's issue is full of great tips, but I had to share my next thrift store inspiration from this weeks issue.

The skirt and the top just SCREAM thrift store finds.  The shoes also look vintage inspired, but I feel like I could find something like them anywhere...I think I actually own something similar by Sam Edelman already:)  The bracelet or belt can also be found at a thrift store for sure:)

Then, I feel like everyone should own at least one trench (I think I own about 6).  So, I thought these were great tips for everyone to take note of during April Showers.

Fantasia Barrino on American Idol: Nails, ring, dress...my thoughts

So, it looks like I'm not the only one who thought/noticed Fantasia gained a little weight...but, it looks like it didn't affect her singing or her signature style...not to say it's something I would copy...but, it's definitely eye catching.

My notes:
The dress reminded me of something I saw on a blog recently.  I give her props for owning the look with the slit and all even though she's gained a little weight.  That deserves props!

But, what really caught my attention during the performance (besides the lyrics of Collared Greens & Cornbread) were her nails and ring which you will be able to view on the video below.  Thoughts?  Is this a new trend?  I keep seeing all of these very out there nail designs.  Who is rocking this trend?

My Go International Dress Search

I've been looking for the dresses I am interested from the Go International pieces at so many Target stores from Oregon to Arizona and have had no luck.  I received a $50 gift card from the Target team to share the dress I pick after sharing how I wear the ones I already own.  Since I have to choose 1 of the dresses from online I thought I would share the choices I have with everyone and see which one everyone thinks I should get.  Can't wait to see what everyone thinks!

Not only do I love the smell of the flower, but the color is AMAZING!  I want the Old Navy tunic right now!  Too bad I hadn't seen this when they had the extra 30% off sale last week:)  Still not a bad deal at $24.50 though.  I'm also really excited to find out that Ivanka's shoes are sold at Macy's!  I have to get those ones I shared recently ASAP!  Now, I can just watch for a fab coupon in the newspaper, online or on my Macy's app for an even better deal!:)
