The 2 french braids...I think this is a must-do for me!

There's something elegant about this look, no?  Funny enough, I think this is what I plan to do for the week I am due so there will be no messy look pics after the baby is born:)

Just the right fit

CONFESSION: I have been wearing a 34B since the first day I put a bra on...which was a trip to Victoria's Secret with my mom and sister.  Needless to say, I've never had a proper fitting or questioned whether this was the right choice...as long as my boobs looked a little bigger in a water bra, under wire, or demi cup I was good:)
Alas, since being preggers I have gone through dramatic changes from a larger cup size to a larger band size!  EEK!  What to do!?  It all seems to hurt and I am just not loving it...I also hope that after I am done with the pregnancy I am able to use these fab new brassieres I have purchased...
In Portland, Oregon I went to a fab lingerie boutique called Oh Baby where they took me through a variety of styles that would work with my growing body.
Then, the AMAZING book, The Bra BOOK came out with so many tips that take you from all stages of your bra life:)  This books is a perfect gift to a young girl starting to wear bras to someone who just can't find the best "fit" help at your local department store or Victoria's Secret.
What you get from the book:
~history
~the "science" of your bra---breaking the bra down, part by part.
~there's a bra for every occasion and find out which to use and why...
~with this tool you are now the expert...don't you hate going into a bra store/section and not knowing if the person who is helping you knows what they are talking about?  Now, you don't have to worry.
Get the book and enjoy!

I've recently found some great new bra's I am in LOVE with and had to share!
Bacini is my new lingerie LOVE!  I fell in love with the brand because of a top that Klo from Downtown Girls on MTV wore episode 5.  I am buying this bra for comfort, but it's also has the trend elements I need with lace and the color taupe.  Plus, it's ONLY $40!  These are great layering pieces.
*UPDATE!  7/25 SWIRL is having a sale on Bacini bra's this week and they are ONLY $25!!  Stock up, use this link to access the sale!
Then, my budget bra is cute too!  Maidenform's new Charmed line.  What's available online now is just the preview, but the prices are great because they are already on SALE!

Vintage tips from ELLE.com, make sure to check out all of the fab videos on the site! I am addicted!

*They kept talking about the Elle.com Videos on The City with Olivia so I had to check it out and now I can't stop...:)

These shorts are everywhere right now...do you have them?

I feel like I keep seeing these shorts on blogs, magazines, tv but not in real life yet...is anyone rocking this style? Is it anyone's must-have? It seems like one of those trends that is going to take off and be EVERYWHERE and then disappear...I am wondering when H&M or Forever 21 will get this style too...although, this BCBG version is not a bad price at all.

Video Diary: Rachel Roy | RACHEL Rachel Roy

I have always been inspired by Rachel Roy's style and having two daughters and doing her fashion thing!
Rachel is getting my fave flowers here, she gets threading done like me, she's on The City (one of my fave shows!) and more:)

Here are some exclusive Q&A with Rachel Roy and check out more of the "insider" videos from Rachel Roy's team on Youtube and be inspired!

Rachel Roy Q&A

What is your advice to other women looking to achieve your unique, stand out style?
Know yourself well. Have the confidence to wear what you want and wear it well. Experiment with unique colors and prints.

How do you balance life as a mother and a designer?
Balance needs to be worked on daily. Without a constant focus on what is truly important it will get lost every time.

What are your favorite RRR pieces for summer? What makes them your favorite?
I absolutely love the evil eye pendant. Evil eyes are loved for karma and the good energy they bring. The black scalloped shorts are a perfect combination of ease and sophistication. The Koala animal ring is fun, I always love a good cocktail ring. The printed flats with gold studs are comfortable, unique and so chic. I love the honeycomb scarf worn as a turban. And everyone always needs a cardi and my summer collection has so many different cardigans to choose from.

What is the main difference in designing for RRR compared to RRNY And RRS?
RRR is the younger sister to the designer brand. She’s fun and optimistic. I always look forward working on different collections as they bring new life to what I am working on.

What inspired you to start this video diary series?
I love watching documentaries and reading about people’s lives. These flip videos are the modern version of this. It’s also fun getting a look inside the lives of these unique designers.
Check out this video for more great ideas of what Rachel is all about:)

Wait till you see this bag and shoe that you can update with a scarf or piece of fabric!

I LOVE the idea of using a designer scarf to create your dream designer bag!  GENIUS!

Shop Cover ups for everyday outfits for everyone

This post is inspired by Bobbie Thomas on the Today Show.  I say that this can be used for people traveling to keep from having to bring as much (even though it wouldn't really change how much I pack:) to another option for pregnant women.

Keep in mind, KMart is having a sale: 50% off Women's Swim & 40% off Dresses, Tops, Shorts, Capris, Sleepwear, Handbags & Belts 6/20-6/26

And, the Outnet and Net-a-Porter are having great sales right now!

Pregnant Pause: Maternity wear a' la Ashlee Simpson and Angelina Jolie

Since being preggers, I have explored the many ways to purchase new clothes for my baby bump body.  I have shopped at maternity stores and sections in stores specializing in maternity, second-hand maternity stores, thrift stores, and, I've just purchased larger sizes.
I was excited when Nuka Maternity offered me the chance to check out their maternity line.  I chose a maxi dress and a maxi skirt, because who can go wrong with those items?  Unfortunately, they sold out of the maxi skirt---which I can see happening...I still really want one (I might have to just buy one ASAP--there's still 2 months to go with my pregnancy:)  The other cool thing about the maxi skirt is it can be worn as a tube dress or a skirt!  So, they sent me a tee, which I have to say I LOVE!  It reminds me of the style I saw recently in an Intermix email blast...which made me excited...I figure it might be tight now...but, it will be just as cute loose later.  I am all about making sure I can reuse what I have now regardless:)
The maxi dress is DIVINE!  The color, the feel of the fabric and the point that I know I could still wear this after the pregnancy!
This company gets an enthusiastic two thumbs up from me!  They've got the style and the quality to back them up!  It's not like the normal maternity wear that makes you want to gag yourself!:)

The inspiration:

I always have seen Ashlee Simpson's pregnancy style as rocker chic...so the first thing I thought when I saw the tee was to match it with a maxi skirt some flat studded sandals and lots of bangles or a long, layered necklace.  And, you can't miss the shades:)

Then, there is Angelina Jolie who was always seen wearing her maxi dresses while preggers.  I think they are the go to item while pregnant.  They are comfy and still stylish.  And, it's a no nonsense styling item.

Are you on a budget with your wardrobe, or do you just like personalizing your look?

Then, you need to get in line for this book, P.S. I Made This by Erica Domesek.  It's less than $20 and you will get so much back from it!  All of her projects are easy and budget conscious!  Also check out her blog for P.S. I Made This, it's so much fun!  She's always working on other projects and shares them on her site...so don't miss out!  I can't wait to make the Ruffle Shirt ASAP!:)  I'm thinking of going to the thrift store and getting a funky vintage tee though from the men's section:)

Cupcake Couture from the Today Show...perfect for any fashionista's soiree

I'm going to use these as inspiration for my The City finale party!   I think I need this book too!:)  You can never go wrong with cupcakes!:)

Inspiration from none other than Whitney Port!

Now, when I take inspiration from a fashion editorial, celeb or someone on the street (street style) it doesn't mean I am doing the exact same ensemble.  It means, I am taking elements from the look to recreate at home with what I already have.  For instance here, I used the mix of prints and accessories to create this look at home for after my pregnancy of course...but, I can't wait to rock the look!

Here, I've got the stripes, the animal print, the layered bangles and the glitzy shoes...nothing is exact, but you see where the inspiration comes from?

Now, I had to comment on the shoes...I have been seeing a lot of sequin shoes rather than glitter this season and I have to get in on the trend!  I LOVE the look!  It definitely brings a basic look to fantastic!  Here are two very different price points for you to choose from.  Both have the same color options to choose from as well:)
