Weekend DIY Project: LANVIN shopping tote

DIY Project

I was reading the weekly Net-a-Porter mag this morning and had to share this great DIY project I spotted!  Net-a-Porter is declaring that shopping totes are the must-have bag now, and one of the designs was by LANVIN and looked like the perfect weekend DIY project I'm going to try.  While searching on Polyvore I found a Rebecca Minkoff cheaper version for less than $50 that I had to share as well for those of you not interested in a DIY project:)

Here is what you'll need:

Tote w/ leather straps (I searched everywhere and really couldn't find a budget friendly tote with leather straps.  I say either buy a cheapy canvas tote and add some leather straps...makes it even more DIY...or check out etsy for some spendy version that are really cute:)
super glue or fabric glue
large rhinestones

I retract my total disgust wtih Walmart's connection with Maz Azria's Walmart line to Miley Cyrus

Yesterday I actually found something worth a fashionista's time in the Miley Cyrus section at Walmart:) The accessories...I LOVED the sunglasses! I can't remember where I heard that this style is going to be BIG this spring...but, for $6 I didn't care, I liked them:) I also liked the $1 friendship style bracelets that are fun to layer this summer.

How I was inspired by Net-a-Porter's Travel selections to create my travel look

My look is the one on the left. I saw it and it screamed moi:) But, I of course had to create with what I had at home:) So, here's what I did:
Pants: American Apparel Harem Leggings
Poncho: Walmart Poncho-I didn't see anymore like this today at the store...
What I added: a gray tank-from Forever 21, Racer Back...
The comfy Ballet flats: Me Too's from Stems a Shoe Boutique
The Bag: Isaac Mizrahi for Liz Claiborne, I got it when prices dropped. So worth the cash. I have to make sure I can carry my mags on the flight:)
The funky scarf: I got lucky! I am an Alpha Shopper for LUCKY magazine and I was sent a LOFT Ann Taylor package to review and it included an AMAZING new scarf!:)
Travel Extra: I just found a new great site that helps travelers with carrying their must-have beauty items that won't get you in trouble for carrying on, the site is called, 3FLOZ and it's genius! Check it out!:)

Wal-Mart Wonders

Not only is Wal-Mart one of the only places right now that is not losing money, but they actually have some new brands that are worth checking out.  I recently found some really great riding trousers that are perfect for only $5.
The two new designers to check out at Wal-Mart:
I love this bag...such a classic shape...you could use this for a very long time.
This is terrible...but, I am already planning my attack...I am going to wait till this goes on sale and buy two...why, might you ask???  Well, one to wear as is and add some new buttons and a fab lining and the next, to make into a dress like Joe Zee recommends to do in this months ELLE:)  Genius!
I need this belt right now!  For $12 and looking so perfect, this is a must-have for me!Fun neckline...makes a basic cardigan updated and keeps your neck warm while doing it:)This is AMAZING!  I think I will just need everything in this blog actually:)I love the neckline on this and the color is perfect. This is a great way to update your tee drawers...keep it from being to basic and still be oh so comfy!

A trendier version of the trench....
Buy any of these pieces and wear them with BCBG or BCBG girls shoes and you are good to go!

You Will Never Believe Where These Skirts Are From!

Doesn't this just say Kate Spade to you?  I love the color detail!  The skirt comes in a tomato red color with brown, pink and white stripes or a magenta color with red, brown and white stripes.  I just love the skirt!

This skirt is on sale online at only $8!  It looks like a Tory Burch style skirt, no??  I love it and the fabric is very strong!
So, I bet after saying the price of the second skirt you guess where these are from, WALMART!  Not, Target, but Walmart!  I love finding my gems at Walmart, so I had to share:)

Go Figure

This is how Michael Kors styles the cigarette pant on his line.  I won't even say how much his cost because of course they can't compete with $9!

Right now, I am really wanting some cigarette pants so for fun, I did a google search and "Cigarette pants" came up first under Wal-Mart, Metro7  of all places!  And for only $9, not online, but at the store!  My heart is jumping.  I just think this would be the perfect style to wear with all of the fab shoes this season.

Run, Don't Walk to Walmart for their FABULOUS handbags

The secret to my trendy handbags is Wal Mart...anytime someone sees a funky handbag that I am carrying it is usually from Wal Mart...and here is why...all of them have been under $20...actually, that is just to be on the safe side...I think all of these were only for $5 each and they are great because not only were they cheap, they are fashionable and have a lot of space to hold all of my necessities...I just got one this past weekend, the one of the far right in the picture...and just today I saw another one I have to buy from the October issue of Latina Magazine...check it out today...you'll love it!

I can't find the handbag online...I will have to scan the article tomorrow....until then...check out the stores...the prices keep dropping:)
