It's Finally Time for SATC the Movie!

*I would wear these ruffly pieces with a shoe like what Carrie wore the night Miranda had the baby.  I would pair the tops with the cropped pants that are in right now.  Remember---no jeans:) 



This has been jotted down in my calendar forever!  And now, it is finally here!  Everyone is asking me what to wear and what I am wearing.  My look is inspired by none other than CB of course:)  I will be wearing a vintage black tier tulle skirt inspired by the intro to Sex and the City wear Carrie Bradshaw is wearing the tutu.  I will wear the funky/dressy skirt with a black racer back tank and accessorize with my Natasha necklace, my What Would Carrie Bradshaw Wear custom bracelet I made before moving to New York City and a pair of fab shoes that have huge bows which are inspired by the styling of all of the girls in the special issue of Entertainment Weekly Magazine.  

Now, with less than a day (some girls are going at midnight) to shop for this occasion, here are some of my ideas for what to wear.  I already told my sister NO JEANS or Tees!  This is an event all its own~you have to celebrate:)  

Things to not leave out for the BIG night, SJP fragrance---I own both, but I think I will wear Lovely.  If you have a Bitten near by, I would check out buying something from that collection for the nights festivities.

Since the BIG night is only tomorrow, I think the best place to find something saucy is Forever 21...for shoes, they need to be STATEMENT shoes...you can find those from Saks Fifth Avenue to Aldo, it's all in the design of the shoes.  

The Shine of LA!

I went to LA for the long weekend for Memorial Day...check out my fun:)  Fashion is always involved of course! Street Pics...not many...sorry---I was too busy shopping:) Dining in Laguna Beach on the roof...fab food! A trip to Target' is always included in every trip:)My first time to ever step into Hermes!  It was a wonderful experience! This outside dining area has been featured on the Hills a couple of times.  We were also in the Roosevelt Hotel which was very chi-chi.

Bags, Bags, Bags

It seems that there is a need to have a bag for any type of holiday or event this summer...here are a couple on my list...

The personalized tote.  This is perfect for weekend getaways and beach trips because it has your initials so there is no confusing with your friends and it just looks incredibly chic to me.

The casual bag ready for any hike, run, bike ride or any sporty activity that you plan for this summer....you always need a bag to support the event;)

The must-have trendy bag for the season to get you through the fun outings...I would say buy a Chloe...but, since those are so much, I say get a Chloe-inspired version...why, not?  Save your money for all of your fun trips! *This image is a real Chloe though...check out the others that are inspired by the real deal too:)

Did You Know....

I was surfing the Vogue UK site and saw some street trend shots and one of the girls referenced shopping at TK Maxx...has anyone heard of TK Maxx?  I, of course thought it was a typo and decided to investigate...and it looks like TK Maxx is the same as our TJ Maxx...same font and everything...just went to the next letter in the alphabet to change it up a bit for our friends over seas:)  The next time I go to London I have to check it out:)  If you have, let me know what the difference is:)

Summer is pretty much here and you need to know the brands that specialize in summer styles.  

Here are the basics:

She knows all things tunic---get her signature tunic and pair it with a pair of white shorts, bermudas or pants and look chic for an afternoon out or a casual dinner.

Juicy Couture 

This brand is all about being cute and comfy...where the styles over your swim suit on the way to the beach or leaving to lunch.

Eileen Fisher

They are all about natural fibers which is perfect for hot weather so your skin can breathe.  Wear these styles all day long for scorching hot and humid days! 

Exciting News on How To!

This Memorial Day Weekend I went to South Coast Plaza for the first time and had numerous experiences that I will be sharing with you this week...one of them was finally finding a leather tassel key chain (one in which I had been asking Chanel about forever) at Celine.  I tried finding the key chain online and instead found something even better.  

A.  Hermes also has a leather tassel keychain...which, of course is too expensive for me, but still exciting.

B.  I found a blog by Betsy Ross Patterns that shows you exactly how to make your own!  I am going to do this soon...what a fun addition to any gift for someone! 

The New Bendel Bag, I am so in LOVE!

Bendel has made it even easier to fall in LOVE with their new leather handbag collection with the signature brown and white stripes!  I secretly love getting the paper bags to carry around as long as they last, but now, we all have the opportunity to share our LOVE of Henri Bendel with all with this fab new collection.  How can you say no?

On Newsstands now, buy the Entertainment Weekly Magazine special issue dedicated to Sex and the City.  I am surprised that this is the only magazine that dedicated anything to the movie...well, besides of course SJP on the cover of Vogue this month...I have to let you all know, that I also have the other issue of Vogue that SJP was on the cover of for SATC!  Collector's item I have to say:)

If you are lucky enough to live or visit New York---take the SATC tour...I lived there for 3 years and never did it!  The next time I visit, I certainly will!

I have a few DIY projects to share with you this month, but the first I have to share is from Martha Stewart!  I haven't really checked her out lately and I am excited to say that I have found something new and wonderful!  She has a variety of fashion focused projects on her site and in her magazine that are worth try and look VERY easy and like they could save you, and me some money:)  Why not try something new and unique...and maybe people will LOVE what you make enough that you could sell the items at a local market or something!

Lip Gloss Trick

I learned something new a month ago that I thought I would share with you all finally...so, I own like a billion lipglosses and they are all over the house and in every purse that I own...well, about a month ago, I was having my makeup done and the makeup artist was completing my look with the coveted gloss and as I began to smack my lips she gasped and was like STOP!  Apparently after you apply just let it gloss...do not smack your lips together trying to smooth it out...nope, you are losing the gloss that way...you may have already known this, but I thought I would share:)

I saw, Lauren from the Hills sporting this hair style in the last couple of episodes of the Hills and now, I see everyone sporting this style...are you trying to rock it?  I personally don't know how to french braid, or I would give the look a twist and wear it with my crazy, curly hair:)

The Bag To Carry for the SATC movie!

I just found out about this tote a couple of days ago...I might just be out of the loop, but I figured I would share the find with everyone:)  The tote is actually carried in the movie by Carrie Bradshaw (AKA SJP)...I think it is a fabulous way to celebrate the movie!  Plus, wearing a pair of sassy shoes...there are contests going on everywhere to giveaway a pair of shoes for the fashionista day...so, check out the local shoe boutiques in your area!

Did you know that Sam & Libby shoes are the new and improved Sam Edelman brand?! You can find Sam Edelman in any trendy boutique across the states and who would have known that the brand used to be Sam & Libby, which I never owned...now I own a pair of Sam Edelman's that I have so worn out:)

Just What I Was Looking For...

I have been searching for a nude/tan pump for what seems like Forever!  I had a pair a couple of years ago that I wore out till they just had to be thrown away...but, after seeing Tracee Ellis Ross looking so fab in hers...of course, I had to have a pair...and, I finally found a perfect pair that fit the price and style that I needed and they were from Marshalls new, and improved shoe department...and funny enough, the brand is Jessica Simpson!  I keep telling people she does not fail to surprise people with her shoe business...she might be having problems in her relationships...but, she knows what she is doing with shoes...the cost, $39.99, the style, AMAZING!  Marshalls is now carrying brands like: Nine West, Coach, and Juicy Couture!  They are not letting us down girls...so, rush in for great prices and styles you might not find anywhere else! 

Cropped Pants Found!

*There was a 3rd pair...the pants that I found in the store...but, they are not online yet...I will take a pic of them tomorrow for you all:)

I have been writing and searching for the perfect cropped pant this season after reading about them in every mag and seeing them on the Spring Must-Have Items on Who What Wear Daily and today, I found them at Old Navy...a casual version...but, fabulous...These aren't capri's and they aren't pedal pushers...they are right about the ankle and you could even cuff them for more effect...they look perfect with funky wedges this season or sky scraper heels. 

Finally In To Shorts!

I have never formally owned a pair of shorts, meaning I have purchased a pair of shorts here and there, but never actually worn or kept for long enough to say they were mine...well, I have purchased and worn (once so far) a pair of Theory Shorts...yes, I said Theory...that is to ensure that I will wear these bad boys...the rest of the shorts I may (still thinking about it) buy will most likely be from Forever 21, Target and Walmart...but, I needed the first pair to ensure that I will for sure wear them and do the work I need to get there...Run 3 miles a day (5 days a week) and do 150-200 lunges every day that I can!  By July I want to be wearing these shorts with heels...I think that is the sexiest look ever!

Do I Need To Change Subscriptions?

I just read on Fashion Week Daily that Nina Garcia is leaving ELLE in September to go to MARIE CLAIRE!  I still can't believe it!  The funny thing is I just got the June issue off the newsstand last week (since I do not subscribe yet:) and I actually saw a lot of interesting things and decided to register on the website for emails (which I did yesterday).  The other interesting thing about this magazine is my previous boss at my first internship with CosmoGIRL! is Ann Shokett, the now editor-in-chief of SEVENTEEN magazine and is always on America's Next Top Model.  She asked me about 2 years ago, what I thought of Marie Claire and I told her the truth...I thought it had an interesting angle incorporating news about other women in other countries, a really strong perspective on women in the working world and then the 101 ideas for fashion was always signature...but, I never looked a the magazine for any fashion direction...maybe, that will change now...
