I didn't expect to fall in love with any shoe when I opened my email from Who What Wear's: Obsession du jour. But, right away I saw the shoe I had to have! Great heel height, fun grommet affect and, the blush hue I'm in love with right now! Plus, a reasonable price at $140...the style: Lucirene.

Wedding style

I am in LOVE with blush hues right now...it is my taupe for spring. I am planning on wearing these shoes with everything! If you check out my previous post on what I purchased for this Lucky Alpha Shopper and Kmart piece, I also bought a pair of great ballet flats with this color. My sister and I saw a style similar to what we bought at Kmart in J. Crew...great trend!

Tights: Old Navy (inspired by the gray tights worn by the girls of America's Next Top Model (shared here) last season when they were walking for Zac Posen.)

This was to stay warm outside and kind of reminded me of a Gossip Girl look that Blair would sport...Jacket is my sister's from White House Black Market.

Here is my day look out and about in Portland, Oregon. I'm visiting for about two weeks. I love the weather here!

My look:

Denim jacket: Old from GAP...had it since I was in high school:)

Faux fur vest: NY & CO last year. This layering was inspired by a street style look below.

Tee: Kmart spring line, Route 66. This is one of the items from my Kmart/Lucky Alpha Shopper spring styling exercise.

Pants: From H&M...I'm in LOVE! I spotted these while at the Lucky Blogger Conference in New York last month.

Shoes: I am in LOVE! My mom just gave them to me on my visit to Portland.

I added the glasses and a knit turband from ASOS after and I loved the geek chic look:)

The inspiration for this look: I can pull inspiration from everywhere and come up with ensembles from what I already own. It's like a game for me. I save all of my inspiration shots in my app, Stylebook.

Gold pants FOUND!

The search is OVER! The gold pants I was searching for to wear with my gray poncho from American Eagle has been found at Imperfect Concepts online boutique! It's that time again: spring brand magazines

I am always excited when the seasons change and it's time to get my brand magazines...some cost, and some don't...but, they are all worth it. Get your fill of the inspirations behind your favorite brands. Plus, style tips, designer interviews and more. I just LOVE it!

Here are a few of the brand magazines on my radar:

Net-a-Porter:

I have been getting this magazine since the first issue and have kept everyone! This year, sadly I did not get it...but, I am happy to say that now it is for sale and you don't have to buy anything to receive it. The issue is ONLY $10 and worth it! Make sure to purchase this ASAP!

My-Wardrobe:
The hard copy of the style guide has already sold out, it must be pretty AMAZING! It isn't available yet...but, check back and use the link above to access the style guide on their facebook page.

H&M:

Looks like I need to hurry in and snag my Spring 2011 issue! These are always free and are available in store or online. I LOVE these! They are so inspirational!

ASOS:
There are just tons of editorials you won't want to miss...be inspired by the styling and the great interviews! It's free to view online and looks like it costs to buy a hard copy...I also noticed that they haven't posted a new issue since November 2010...wonder what's up with that...will look into it and let everyone know...

Interview with new scarf designer, Jamie Futterman of Just Jamie Scarves

I was so excited to learn about new ways to style my scarves from Jamie Futterman when she was interviewed on Better TV. I checked out her site and let her know how much I LOVED all of her ideas and her great scarves! Here are a few questions I emailed over to her and some new spring scarves to look forward to! How do you style your scarves?

Where did the inspiration come for your line, Just Jamie Scarves?
Fashion at an affordable price was and is my motto when putting my lines together! I stay on top of all the current trends and deliver them to my customers at a price they can afford! (She really does! The prices are AMAZING!)

How did you come up with your company/brand name?
My brand name was easy since it’s based off my real name and my company featured the products I love most…SCARVES!

Where can people find your scarves? (Where are they sold)
I’m a traveler and do trunk shows everywhere I go! My scarves have been known to travel along with me. As of now, they are mostly in stores in NY, NJ and CT but I have opened accounts in Florida, Maryland, Washington D.C. and I am beginning to expand quickly! (Plus, of course, they are online here.)

What can customers expect for spring?
Spring is right around the corner and my website will be overflowing with color compared to the blacks, browns, olives and grays that are currently taking it over! Get ready for the pastel color pallet because Just Jamie will be bringing in many shades of pink, yellow, green, blue and lavender scarves to her website along with bathing suit cover-ups, pareos, fedoras and the big straw sunhats!

I think the zig zag scarves would be amazing used for a turban...what other creative ways can people use scarves for?
Believe it or not, I tie a scarf around my luggage handle so I can pick mine out of the crowd!

What were you doing before starting Just Jamie Scarves?
Before starting Just Jamie Scarves I worked at a full service production company. I always thought I would end up in Advertising and work for an agency but after sticking it out for a year and getting a real taste, I realized it wasn’t for me! I belong in the fashion world where my true passion lies!

What tips would you give someone wanting to get to where you are today?
It’s definitely not easy to start your own company but if you want it bad enough it will come. I’ve worked hard to get where I am today and couldn’t have done it without the support of my family!
