Trend alert: Are you knotting your tops?

I keep seeing street style bloggers showcasing people knotting their tops and was wondering if everyone else is doing it...I'm LOVING this styling technique and have done it a few times...I say it's a year round styling not just summer as you can see below. I prefer using button downs, but, you can also use a classic T to give more shape to the look.
From Gap Mag

You can buy tops that have a knot already established.  Styles to try here, here, here and here.

Moi testing out the trend.  I also love it with high waisted jeans, short, skirts, etc.

Rose Crush

It's official...I'm addicted to all things rose.  At first it was a few rose fragrance products here and there...then, it was rose gold (EVERYTHING) and then, it was rose hued clothing...I'm in deep...so, I figured I'd share all things rose that I love.

Beauty:
I feel like anyone can rock the rose scent.  It's a nice light feminine fragrance that nothing can compare with.  I use everything from a body oil and rose water (I read somewhere that there is no need to spend big bucks on rose water...it's all the same:) to my new Weleda facial products I've been trying out and LOVE!  I found a trial set to test it out for only $14.99, but I'm going to have to invest in the actual full product because I really love it...so, I'm going to go for the cleansing milk (I keep hearing that is the way to wash your face now) and the Weleda Wild Rose Smoothing Facial Lotion.
*Fun DIY I got from the Martha Stewart show: Use roses in hot water for steaming your face.  This is good for sensitive skin...but, I think anyone can do it...I know I will:)

Rose Gold:
Can we just say genius?  This metal just looks amazing on anyone with tanned skin!  I'm getting my second wedding ring this way and can't way...it will take wearing my wedding ring everyday to a whole other level:)  I love how Rachel Roy says that mixing metals shows you are daring...makes me feel even more empowered to have it be my wedding ring and mix it with other jewelry I want to wear.
Even though I really do pile on the rose gold...it's just worth it!  But, it all started with my rose gold watch...I never even wore watches and I had to have the Michael Kors watch and wear it as a bracelet basically:)  It's so funny, because now every brand/designer has a rose gold watch offered...and, now Michael Kors has incorporated the rose gold metal into other jewelry options  like rings and bracelets.  LOVE!

The clothes:
Sadly, my blazer is from H&M last year...but, in the March 2012 issue of Bazaar on page 72, you can find an assortment of rose tinted items.  Stylists tip from Bazaar: "Head-to-toe hues are best in streamlined silhouettes."

I just love how they styled this rose blouse with black pants and a black and animal print jacket...great styling inspiration:

Here are some rose items to check out:

*ASOS Skinny Jeans in Soft Rose, $63

*Gryphon Goa Pullover, $390

*Gap Slim Dolman Top, $25

*West Coast Wardrobe Signature Blouse in Dusty Rose, $60

*Creamy Rose One Button Blazer, $535

*See By Chloe Sneaker Wedge in Light Rose, $375

*See By Chloe Lace Leather Sandals in Light Rose, $250

How are you be rocking rose in your life?

Two jeans I will be checking out on Monday at the Gap

I'm not sure how I missed these styles, but my mom had a pair of high waist cropped 1969 jeans while I was visiting in Portland for Thanksgiving. I sadly wasn't able to make it into the store, but did my research online and found there are two styles I need to try!!:). My mom said she paid less than what's online, so I'm hoping I get lucky when I go in on Monday...we shall see:)

Hello Everyone!

I have entered into a contest that Stylelist and Saks Fifth Avenue are having to try and win a $2,000 shopping spree at Saks Fifth Avenue.  I only have 1 day to get as many votes as possible because I was having technical difficulties this weekend with my submission (and that is why the pic is not posted correctly btw:).

This is what I wanted it to say:
Title: Desert Accent
Pieces:
Dress vintage, inspired by Miranda on SATC2.
Belt: vintage Coach from Buffalo Exchange.
Shoes: My favorite rose gold sandals ever!
Scarf: (save the best for last) Rose gold with coral from the GAP.  It's light and perfect for Arizona weather.

The Look for Less, Cropped Khakis this spring

Net-a-Porter had a pair of Mui Mui cropped khaki trousers in this weeks magazine issue that caught my eye for $435 and I am excited to share that the GAP has a similar style for a mere, $49.50...you decide what works for you...but, be inspired by how Net-a-Porter styles the trousers in the magazine (2nd page)!

Gap Just Keeps Getting Better

I just read on NYLON's Myspace page that some shoes that Gap is selling are designed by Pierre Hardy of Balenciaga!  BUY THEM RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!  Too good of a deal to pass by and I am surprised that there is nothing on the site sharing this AMAZING info...oh, well, you heard it here:)
*Comes in a variety of colors.  Around $98.

Dress it Down...well, at least the price

I was reading a Glamour magazine blog about fab dresses under $50 and I had to share two of the dresses that sparked my attention.
The first, a Speigel dress that has the sheath silhouette that I seem to be all over right now with a matching color belt and added pocket detail to make this a-not-so-basic sheath dress...I am staying with the bright colors though with the orange hue as my first choice.  The Glamour choice was the winter white.
The second, looks like it is on sale, so I have to get it soon, but the Gap dress has the bat sleeve that has caught my eye recently.
*For both dresses, I would add a different color skinny belt to change the look.  But, both can do with the belt that comes with it.
This all brings me to agree with the JC Report article, "Are the Glossies Losing Their Luster."  I still get every issue out there and just get inspired...that is what has always been about for me anyway:)

The GAP

I feel like every magazine I have opened up this summer has been referring to Patrick Robinson...from VOGUE to NYLON (and then New York Magazine said some stuff too), everyone is saying that the tee's and jeans are to-die-for...so, of course, now I really need to hurry up and go in!  I have worked for the company on and off all through high school and college...but, after the SJP and Marc Jacobs designer stints where I had to have everything in site that was in the Gap...I have had a bit of a lull...so, hopefully, the GAP is back again...because of yours truly Patrick Robinson:)

Where Are All Of the Long Vests???

So, I keep seeing layered vests in all of the fashion magazines...but, I can't seem to find the style offered anywhere.  I got excited when I saw that Gap was going to have a vest in the May issue of Vogue...but, I keep checking the Gap website and nothing...where, or where can I find a long vest for my safari look this Spring before it is too late?
Here are a couple of options:
Ok, this has too may bulky buttons...but, it is closer than I started and it is only $29.99 at Dillards!
