The look for less: Mara Hoffman vs. Kmart

I saw this dress on Kmarts Instagram and was drawn to the color collab instantly! Then, when I saw a Planet Blue email highlighting an item from (my fave) Mara Hoffmans collection I decided I had to share. Now, this look for less is not exact by any means. Just looks like a similar color combo which is what caught my eye on both looks. What do you think?

Wedding style

Pumps
$25 - kmart.com

I am in LOVE with blush hues right now...it is my taupe for spring.  I am planning on wearing these shoes with everything!  If you check out my previous post on what I purchased for this Lucky Alpha Shopper and Kmart piece, I also bought a pair of great ballet flats with this color.  My sister and I saw a style similar to what we bought at Kmart in J. Crew...great trend!

*This is me before my hair came down...I didn't want it to get frizzy before the festivities:)  I shared a pic of the full on hair with a friend below.
Dress: Target Go International dress by Zac Posen
Tights: Old Navy (inspired by the gray tights worn by the girls of America's Next Top Model (shared here) last season when they were walking for Zac Posen.)
Shoes: Kmart, Glo jeans

This was to stay warm outside and kind of reminded me of a Gossip Girl look that Blair would sport...Jacket is my sister's from White House Black Market.
Me with my girl, Latoya:)  The hair was pretty much over by this point...but, you get the idea...I have another picture with Sahara on facebook if you are really curious:)

Geek Chic: My Kmart shirt and the rest of the look, inspiration and all

Here is my day look out and about in Portland, Oregon.  I'm visiting for about two weeks.  I love the weather here!

My look:

Denim jacket: Old from GAP...had it since I was in high school:)
Faux fur vest: NY & CO last year.  This layering was inspired by a street style look below.
Tee: Kmart spring line, Route 66.  This is one of the items from my Kmart/Lucky Alpha Shopper spring styling exercise.
Pants: From H&M...I'm in LOVE!  I spotted these while at the Lucky Blogger Conference in New York last month.
Shoes: I am in LOVE!  My mom just gave them to me on my visit to Portland.
I added the glasses and a knit turband from ASOS after and I loved the geek chic look:)

The inspiration for this look: I can pull inspiration from everywhere and come up with ensembles from what I already own.  It's like a game for me.  I save all of my inspiration shots in my app, Stylebook.
This is from a street style blog.  I think it was Vanessa Jackman.
Look from the Lucky Blogger Conference.

Shopping List: The items I am considering for my KMart, Lucky Alpha Shopper project

A lot more to come!  The prices are great and the KMart spring style is perfection!  I can't wait to see what's in the store too!

I'm thinking I will do this shopping challenge like Lucky magazines March issue, 90 Days of Outfits: A genius styling guide to dressing for $5 a day.

Stay tuned...

KMart is helping me get my skinny cargo must-have for this fall

I've been LIVING for the skinny cargo trend since this past spring...so much that I took in some pics from a magazine to a tailor and had my basic, maternity cargo's transformed into something I would actually rock.  So, of course I was already thinking where I would purchase my normal skinny cargo's for after the birth of my little bundle of joy and that is where KMart comes in!  Great price and just on point with the styling.

Plus, while you are getting excited about your fall wardrobe...try your chance at KMart Design's $100 giveaway!  It's a lot of fun just check it out for more information here.

I AM OBSESSED!  Cargo Craze:

Here are the KMart cargo's that will be available around September 1st:

Here is some of the styling from this past spring that made me have to have this style cargo:)

Shop Cover ups for everyday outfits for everyone

This post is inspired by Bobbie Thomas on the Today Show.  I say that this can be used for people traveling to keep from having to bring as much (even though it wouldn't really change how much I pack:) to another option for pregnant women.

Keep in mind, KMart is having a sale: 50% off Women's Swim & 40% off Dresses, Tops, Shorts, Capris, Sleepwear, Handbags & Belts 6/20-6/26

And, the Outnet and Net-a-Porter are having great sales right now!

Inspiration from none other than Whitney Port!

Now, when I take inspiration from a fashion editorial, celeb or someone on the street (street style) it doesn't mean I am doing the exact same ensemble.  It means, I am taking elements from the look to recreate at home with what I already have.  For instance here, I used the mix of prints and accessories to create this look at home for after my pregnancy of course...but, I can't wait to rock the look!

Here, I've got the stripes, the animal print, the layered bangles and the glitzy shoes...nothing is exact, but you see where the inspiration comes from?

Now, I had to comment on the shoes...I have been seeing a lot of sequin shoes rather than glitter this season and I have to get in on the trend!  I LOVE the look!  It definitely brings a basic look to fantastic!  Here are two very different price points for you to choose from.  Both have the same color options to choose from as well:)
