Spotted: Tiered Maxi Dress

I saw this dress on the Today Show and was curious...then, I saw a similar dress on the Calypso St. Barths email and knew I wasn't going to be paying $450...so, I figured let's see how much the Kohls version is and it's on sale for $36!  Thoughts???

Don't forget, next month, Calypso St. Barth will be the featured designer for Go International!

LC's got the look...

I am ready to admit it...I used to watch The Hills to see what Lauren Conrad would wear...(I can't wait till her new reality show on MTV comes out...waiting for more info:) and when her first line came out...I actually would have bought pieces if the prices was way too much for a new, reality star designer...and alas...if Kohls was closer to where I live, I would have gone to check out her Kohls line a billion years ago:)  With all of that said...I was super excited to check out her new book, Lauren Conrad Style.  I knew it would have all of the "style" secrets from the looks I reworked from her past on The Hills and her street style looks I saw in US Weekly and Life & Style.  And, the book doesn't let you down...it also includes makeup tips which my sis and I were gushing over since we've always loved her cat eye look.  Speaking of beauty, I have not confirmed that she no longer is affiliated with meet mark, but she did recommend an eyeliner from the line that I have to try since I already love her eye makeup:)

Here are some looks from Kohls that have caught my eye (plus they are all on sale and Kohls always has some type of coupon each weekend!:):

Here is the post from Who What Where that Lauren guest edited...she is everywhere right now, so keep an eye out!

The fall Lauren Conrad looks at Kohl's that caught my eye...

Images are thanks to The Budget Babes post.  Thanks for sharing!  These are the looks that caught my eye and that I would consider checking out...I am also curious how this will work since LC is also coming out with a higher end line with her girl friends...we shall see...
I love the color of this dress...You would definitely need to use the slip from the previous post here.

I like the tunic here...and the shoes actually...I wonder if those will be sold at Kohl's too...

I love this dress too...but, once again I think the slip will work wonders for me here...

I only like the top here...I saw this lace styling a lot last year...

I LOVE the nude color palette here.  The skirt is too short for my style...but, I love the look!

I <3 the lace jacket here!

Online Sale Craze

After the haunt of Black Friday in Malls and local boutiques, online has taken over with every type of sale you can think of...it's interesting that now Friends and Family sales that used to be pretty exclusive are now sent out to EVERYONE...if you are on a mailing list then you are included...plus, every site seems to have a sale every week that is supposed to end at the end of the week, but don't be fooled, the next week there will be something new...there is really a fall in the economy, things are being given away for free...or maybe, the prices were always so hiked and now they are coming back down to reality.  I love all of the enticing prices, but it's just very interesting to watch.  So, to stay in the loop, create an email you don't care about being inundated with emails with and sign up for all of your fave stores and watch for the right sale and voila, you get a great steal!

A couple of really great sales to check out:
Lauren Conrad: The prices were crazy high in the first place and now a lot of the pieces are at least 50% off!
Net-a-porter: They are always looking out for their customers...even though everything is very luxury on the site, they still allow sales which I appreciate...so, take advantage of the Sale Extravaganza while new items are added.
Kate Spade: Is having fun sharing the discount bug...but, there is no lacking in the cute designs that they have....
Plus every department store like Saks, Neimans, and Macy's are having HUGE sales!  The inside story in LA is that Saks was on a red-mark down style sale so early that Neimans was like what are we going to do...so, everyone is competing for business...interesting idea.

Follow up on Lauren Conrad Skirt

Today I was browsing at OLD NAVY and found a skirt for $6.99 that looks just like the Sally Skirt I have been waiting for by Lauren Conrad, but instead, it is way, way less!  I about scream out loud when I saw it!  The skirt comes in grey and black from what I saw:)
Also, Old Navy has some ballet flats so similar to a pair that I saw at Kate Spade that I did a double take!
To top all of the deals off, Kate Spade stores are selling Kenneth Jay Lane pieces that were once $255 for ONLY $25!  Rush in today!

People Keep Hating On Lauren Conrad

Ok, so, does JLO sketch all of her designs?  Does Gwen Stefani draw it all out?  Do any of these designers have rendering 101 skills under their belts?  Are we questioning them?  No, we followed JLO on MTV to watch what she did and she did just like Kimora does on her show....directs and gives ideas...so why are we hating on poor LC?  Is it just because she is a reality star?  Well, I think that whoever is doing the line is doing it right because I want something else:)  The Rebecca top...which, of course is worn with my dream skirt, the Cindy skirt...I can't wait till that is available!  I NEED one right now:)

Conrad's line out of the "in" already...Should Heidi Be Scared...

*The skirt should be here by September...I am waiting:)  BTW---high waisted skirts are going to be fab for this fall...pair with your black patent round toe pumps or black patent loafers with cut outs!
New York Magazine is stating that Kitson is dropping the Lauren Conrad line...funny, I am still awaiting my coveted Cindy Skirt that comes out this fall...but, of course, I had to look at Kitson to see if their Lauren items were on sale and the only dress that was still there is still full price...so, ladies near a Kitson store...keep an eye out...Lauren pieces might be dropping.
Before I read the New York Magazine headline today, I had already started asking about what to expect for this fall from Lauren's line and I am actually quite excited...(hint, hint...I am giving them the publicity that Kitson says they are lacking:)  The sillhouettes remind me of fun pieces I would want if I were in LA...so, it is fitting that she is creating these...they are items you'd think would be everywhere, that you want...but, you just can't seem to find...
I love the theme for Holiday, my favorite SJP movie ever!  "Girls Just Want To Have Fun!"  And I can definitely see girls having fun in these pieces at a club or a girls night out!  And in the holiday collection styles are named after famous celeb singers who have, of course, influenced fashion and trends.
So, don't always listen to the negatives on brands...check it out first and then decide what you think...

The New Do'

I saw, Lauren from the Hills sporting this hair style in the last couple of episodes of the Hills and now, I see everyone sporting this style...are you trying to rock it?  I personally don't know how to french braid, or I would give the look a twist and wear it with my crazy, curly hair:)
