There are so many fun twists to fashion week this season!

If you are in New York, but not attending fashion week, here are a few ways you can get some fun deals:
-Fashion Week Daily is usually giving out pubs during the day.  (There are actually a lot of companies that are just giving out items in front of the tents.)
-I am thinking that SHARPIE is probably going to be giving out markers in front of the tents and not just in the tents, but we shall see.
-There are select locations on Saturday that YSL will be giving totes out for their YSL Manifesto.  I would recommend following them on twitter to get the exact date, time and instructions!
-Ice Cream + Models + Free Swatches: I really can't wait to see what happens with this!  Tomorrow from 2-4 PM, an old school ice cream truck is going to present in front of the Bryant Park Tents showcasing the new QUAIL line (which I am in LOVE with!).  Select editors will receive a free SWATCH watch!  I will see what I can do:)  Here are the instructions for how to win:
How can you obtain one of these free Swatches? Follow @SwatchUS to get each code word tweeted to you.  Say the code word to one of the Quail models wearing a Swatch at theIce Cream Truck and you can win a free Swatch (while supplies last). http://www.twitter.com/SwatchUS

Perfect Timing

I am so glad I waited for the great deal of $34.99 for the Target Anya Hindmarch handbag that looks strikingly similar to Anya Hindmarch spring handbag collection that is sold on Net-a-Porter for $1350 not only because I saved so much money, but because according to Fashion Week Daily, the designer has received the title of "a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the Queen's New Year's Honours list in recognition of her contribution to the British fashion industry."
So, if you haven't purchased a bag, hurry in to the store or check online and get a great steal!

Spring Cleaning

I should have written this long before New York Fashion Week/Spring 2008...but, nonetheless, I have to share...My two favorite daily sites, www.fashionweekdaily.com and www.dailycandy.com have had some Spring Cleaning done to the site with a fabulous new makeover (even though Spring is over...there is still room for change...associated with the Spring 2008 fashion week of course:)...And it looks like each site had the same stylist...The grey caught my eye for the font as well as the feeling that you are looking at someones notes to themselves...or a notebook with the writers scribbles to their self. Fashion Week Daily has added videos on the homepage...You can enjoy each while on trips with the Daily Candy book and the monthly Fashion Week Daily that you can buy at Barnes Noble (which is small and can fit in your purse) and the free issue that is given out during fashion week outside of the tents for free (that is huge, so you can be noticed and get a photo taken of you).

Fashion Sitings

With Fashion week on the verge, everyone must be getting antsy like me...another year not in the tents...I can't be too sad I guess, there are so many options to watch the shows now...I really can't complain...I can play dress up in every look I've got sit at my tv and take notes...ok, so the allure isn't there...but, at least we have the options, and here they are...whatever works for you...we have so many options...

As I had said last week, Elle is doing BIGGER and better things and revamping the magazine...I said that I look to www.elle.com for all of their great interactive fashion blogs, stories, shows etc. and now they will be featured on HSN starting August 18th, so get your Tivo's and DVR's ready to tape all of the inside shows all day long with nothing but fashion week and style tips from the greatest editors from ELLE:)

There is also:
www.Style.com
www.Net-a-porter.com (You will have to get their NOTES for the Fall Season coming soon!)
www.nymag.com (With the Fug Girls Sharing their thoughts)
www.fashionweekdaily.com (for what's going on behind the scenes and what is being whispered in the tents)

Who needs to go to the tents anymore??? Ok, we all want to still…but, at least now we have options to feel like we are right there in the front row…What other sites will people be watching?
