Dreamy Designer Bags: Bags Keep Getting Better!

Back in December, I wrote about bags that look just like the bags we dream of, but maybe can't afford--like, Hermes...these gems are only $100 each!
The other day, I was excited to find a new tote with a fab image on the front from a blog called, Fashion Diary---your dream bag (Labels for Less)...from Chanel to LV for only $80!  How could you go wrong?

The Price of Things to Come

I keep thinking if prices for luxury items can keep raising, like my Chanel sunglasses that I have had for over 4 years that used to cost around $100 are now over $200...is that because of demand, or just because they know they can do it?  Well, according to WSJ, there are some luxury brands that are putting the economy into consideration when marking the prices for fall 2009 and that is Badgley Mischka.  I doubt they are going to take away any of the detail in the garment, but just adjust the price for the customer which makes sense.  I hope other designers follow this new idea.

Boots, Boots, Boots

I just wore a pair of my most fave shoes today that look soooooooo Chanel-esque that I am swimming in ideas of what to wear them with!
Plus, I am getting my VERY FIRST pair of UGGS this week that are worth the wait!  They have a subtle paisley design that is embossed on the shoe that you can barely tell is there...so it is not gaudy by any means....I am soo in LOVE!

"Couture for Coins..."

As Kate Spade refers to a coin purse that she LOVES for August...this reminded me of the Chanel coin purse that I saw in a mag today that I was gushing over!  It is funny how these small trinkets can be so expensive, but we still want them:)Marc by Marc JacobsLVKate SpadeChanel ( I love this!)

Sad News: Steve & Barry Screaming Bankrupt...

What does that mean for our coveted Bitten line by SJP?  Companies like Sears are looking at buying the company...so we shall see what happens...it is interesting, in the WWD article about this, the company states that customers can't deal with prices going up to fix the bankruptcy problem because they are trying to deal with gas prices going up...so, why is it that Gucci, Chanel, LV and many other designer labels aren't fixing prices or dropping down?  I have a pair of Chanel sunglasses that I bought about 4 years ago for about $175 and now they cost more than $250...what gives?  The economy is not getting better?  Many say it is because the rich aren't affected and even if they are, they are keeping up image by still purchasing high end items without even looking at the price tag...I guess sometimes image is everything for people.

More on the matter from NY Post.
