Cool updates at Anthro

I picked up a doc sharing the updates for members at Anthro recently and wanted to share the new perks:

1.  A birthday discount.  I have been receiving 15% coupons forever but I always heard that they weren't sent to everyone...so I guess this will be something all members get.

2.  Exclusive online shopping access (every month).

3.  Two FREE shipping periods yearly!  This will be at the top of my list!!

4.  Advance notice of SALES & special promos.  Who can be mad at that?

5.  Monthly newsletter and curated content.  I LOVE their blog and online mag.

6.  ...And some surprises along the way.  Can't wait to see what they have in store!  Wonder if that show that used to be on Sundace will continue...will have to look into that...

Here are some great sales going on at Anthro that I found via Shop it to Me:

Collabs galore...here are a few to note

I just keep seeing collab emails here are there.  Any I'm missing that everyone should know about?  Here are a few to note:

Just received this in my email today from NYLON mag:

-Trina Turk for Banana Republic.  I can't wait for this, but I'm not sure when it will be happening.
-Mad Men collab with Banana Republic.  Going on now.
-Mad Men with Estee Lauder, great vintage looking cases for their product.

Anthropologielaunches Made in Kind, a collaborative project featuring collections of limited-edition and one-of-a-kind items from 11 designers, including Gregory Parkinson, Karen Walker, Samantha Pleet, and more.
*Blurb from Pop Sugar
-DVF has designed children's clothes at GAP.  Such cute stuff!  I'd say see if they have large enough items to try out on yourself as well:)  Happening now.
-J. Crew & Manolo shoes-happening now.
-J. Crew & CFDA winner, Joseph Altuzarra
-Target thinks local, ships national; Target will be working with boutique owners all of the U.S. to get that signature look they have in their store at Target for all to buy.  I can't wait!  This happens May 3!

The search for Tamera Mowry's red dress seen on the Style Network's Show, Tia & Tamera

I've had fun watching the show because I can relate to both Tia & Tamera being married for five years now and having my first child.  But, I'm surprised to actually be liking a lot of Tamera's clothing choices.  One item, the red and white dress, I fell in love with and tried asking Tamera on twitter who the dress was by with no response.  So, I kept looking but found nothing.  Then, while watching the first episode of the New Girl I luckily spotted the dress again and thank GOODNESS asked the Possessionista and she had the answer!  The dress is by Anthropologie...it's old, but it is on eBay (It's been on so many shows that the price is kind of high for resale...).  Sadly, I couldn't find any videos or photos of her wearing the dress, but she wore it twice on two different episodes.

Indian Inspiration

$298 - anthropologie.com

lemlem — Marta Gauze Dress
$220 - lemlem.com

Caftans are always in style for me!  The only sad thing is that as easy, breazy as the caftan looks for some reason they are always so expensive.  I really want to make my own...but, here are the ones I really want.:

  • I have been gushing over the lemlem designs since the first time I've seen them!  They also teamed up with my fave, J. Crew to sell these beautiful pieces!
  • I just found these Brooklyn made caftans by two.  I want everything!  The colors, the prints, everything is gorgeous!  Plus, they are all made in New York!
  • Today I received an email from Anthro that made me super excited!  For the month of May they were inspired by INDIA and have items that are reflective of a caftan and other styles similar to Indian clothing.  I can't wait to get the catalog!
I can't wait to see the caftans sold in the Calpyso collection at Target on May 1st!  The countdown is on!
Tory Burch and Rachel Roy are inspired by India.

The Resort 2011 line which I just purchased a pair of pants from was inspired by India meets the Alps.  I think that Tory is always inspired by India though with the colors, prints and styles like tunics she always uses.

Not only, is Rachel half Indian, she also incorporates her love of the county in her designs which I love.  This season she has earrings that I am gushing over and have to have right now!:)  Plus, much more!

It's time to start...SATC2 Copy Cat:)

After I spotted this head piece in the second trailer I had to do this!  Of course, I have only found it at Anthro so far and the price is a little steep for me...but, we shall see...

    Inspiration from Anthropologie today

    First, DIY accessory:
I was walking out of the store today and had to scribble down a note to myself to share what I found with everyone! The item: a bracelet...I say that you can put it together by shopping a thrift store for old men's watches that might not work anymore. Take the face off of the watch and replace with a broach and voila, you have the same look! I can't wait to do this when I get home!

    The real deal is $38.

Second, the look for less with a little DIY twist:

Old Navy, on sale for $20!!!

I think I have received the cutest promo gift from a company ever the other day...Anthropologie sent me the cutest ever packaging for a coupon-I had to share it with everyone...and share the item that I am hoping to be able to afford after my B-Day:)  So many cute things to choose from of course...also, I advise that ladies who love Anthro sign up for the mailing list so you can also receive this grand gesture when your B-Day rolls around:)
*I adore the silhouette of this dress!
